We completely agree with you, shipping fees sucks. From the first and second campaign, we were able to learn a lot about the logistics and costs so we have a good gauge of what's needed for a smooth operation during post-funding. We don't pack the shipping into the product cost in order to offer the best deal for both domestic and international backers. And unfortunately this is the shipping fee we have calculated based on the weight of the product, packaging, and the insurance that covers the journey. Also, USPS has raised their costs yet again for the 3rd year in a row. This really impacts us as small San Francisco based startup. In addition to rent for storage space for inventory in SF, there are pick & pack fees which also run up the costs. Hope this clears up any confusion with the shipping fees.
