Flare is equipped with night vision through infrared LED. Although the infrared light is not visible for the human eye, it allows Flare to detect shapes and even identify faces at night. So you and your home will always stay protected – even when you’re asleep!
Flare goes through several checks before it deactivates. It needs to make sure that you are someone trusted before it can do so. First, it picks up the location of your smartphone as you approach home. As you enter, it recognises your face and voice to authenticate you. Only then it will deactivate itself.
We are designing Flare's batteries to operate under normal conditions for five years. Part of our development roadmap is the setting up of an exchange program for your lithium-ion battery, to ensure an ongoing security of your home, once the battery has reached the end of its life cycle.
Flare is always connected to the cloud and can react in milliseconds. That is enough time to send an alert to the cloud before someone approaches it. Also, it keeps connected to the cloud all the time. It is an indication of something happening if this connection is broken
Flare allows you to set an "emergency word" though the smartphone App. As you enter your home with this person just say this word and the system will know that something is wrong. It will not have any visible reaction in order to protect you, but it will alert the emergency services immediately
