About
Ever see one of those Ironman movies and think to yourself "Gee, I wish I had one of my own?" Well what if we told you you could?
The Badjo suit is a fully functional high-tech exoskeleton suit. With the suit the user can design and create a suit that will best reflect his or her own personal tastes and creativity. Every suit comes with a its own set of basic features but on top of that the user can get very specific to what exactly they want their suit to do or look like.
We are aiming to sell non lethal versions of the Badjo Suit in order to continue funding our firefighter (and other future applications) research.
FireFighter
Fire Fighter Technology has not made any significant improvements in the last 100 years. We are aiming to change this. We are currently working with the Salisbury Fire Department in designing a Badjo Suit for FireFighters. However, research in technology this hightech is very expensive. After the KickStarter, the profit from selling Cos-Play and Paintball versions of the Badjo Suit will go into funding our firefighter research in order to get a firefighter version of the Badjo Suit on the field. Things we are looking into involve:
Thermal Vision: A controllable thermal vision HUD to allows firefighters to see through the smoke.
Cooling system: A system to keep Fire Fighters cool that is strong enough to handle the heat of a burning building.
Oxygen system: Oxygen system offering firefighters a better breathing system while in burning buildings.
Back Door system adapted to Fire Fighters: To give firefighters easy access to their suits in a matter of seconds that will also keep unwanted gases from entering the suit.
Where we stand with the Fire Fighter Badjo Suit:
What we are working on now:
Mainly at the moment we are doing ALOT of experimentation with graphene.
We are testing materials to see which plates wold be best as a flame and heat retardant. The main material we are looking into is graphene, and variations of chemically modified graphene.
For the cooling system, we will be integrating a thermo electrical cooling system that will use the same system as the peltier effect. Because of the peltier effect we will be able to create a charge through the difference of temperature between the inside of outside of the suit to power the internal cooling system.
We are also looking into using graphene to generate also generate a power source. And because graphene is flexible and can be made very thin, we are looking int integrating it into the actual plates of the fire fighter suit.
Because we are still doing testing on materials, a full suit has not been made with them already integrated (the graphene).
What we will be working on in the future:
We aim to eventually integrate an HUD display that will allow fire fighters to switch in and out of a thermal imaging display.
We also aim to eventually design and integrate into the suit an oxygen system that will allow fire fighters to have a breathing apparatus.
We also aim to design a very tight, and impenetrable backdoor system that will allow fire fights to quickly enter and exit their suits, but not allow smoke in the suits, and insulated
Again, like we said, this kickstarter is for the hightech non lethal version of the suit. No weapons come with the suit. The non lethal versions of the suit that we are offering, although it is sturdy, it is not designed to be armor. All funding received from this kickstarter will go towards the non lethal versions of the suit, so we can make molds, get the workspace, and start selling them.
When we do start selling the non lethal BadjoSuits, the profit from that will go into continuing our research for the fire fighter versions of the suit. Same as the weapons. They are not real weapons. They are more like hightech gadgets.
Non Lethal Badjo Suit:
Features:
Appearance/Gadgets/Customization:
The greatest feature of the suit is its customize-ability. We will work with the user to help decide what will be on the suit and how it will be made. For example. Say you like lions and you want a lion themed suit. We can make you a "power-ranger like" helmet (where your visor is where the lions mouth opens), with a lions mane that changes colors! Not only that but we can put a roaring lions head on your chest that emits blue fog from its mouth, make your fingers have claws that light up and make the entire suit covered in fur (yea it doesn't have to look so robotic). Also, we can make it so when you say "Activate drill" parts on your forearm will come together encasing your hand and start spinning like a drill! (Bioshock anyone? Gurren Lagann?) We can even have steam come out of certain parts with pressure gauges moving back and forth for you steampunk fans!
Current Badjo Suits:
Other Badjo Suits Concepts:
You can be very specific when telling us what you want your Badjo Suit to look like and what functions you want it to have.
Here are a few examples of what we can do:
Below is one of the first prototype gadgets we made on the Badjo Suit Mark 2 a few years ago.
The Back Door System:
Another one of the greatest Features of the suit is it's Backdoor system. With the press of a button the back of the suit will open up, allowing the user to simply step inside and close on top of them. This will allow the user access to the suit in a matter of seconds! This feature comes standard in every suit!
Temperature Control:
Our suits have a Temperature control system that will either keep you cool, or keep you warm. Yup, Both. Users will be able to set the temperature from anywhere between 69 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. This feature comes standard in every suit!
One Size Fits all:
The suit is made to be able to fit anyone from a 28 inch waist to a 36 inch waist and from 5"6 to 6"3. The inside of the suit is lined with a special foam that will over time mold to its user shape providing a nice fit and the fabric at the joints can be adjusted depending on the users height. If we are able to make our stretch goal we will be able to make 3 different sizes.
Weight:
The weight of a full suit can be anywhere from 25lbs-35lbs depending on what the user decides he or she wants on it. It is also very easy to move in!
How to Order:
If the Kickstarter is successful, once the Badjo Suit becomes available for retail, the ordering process will be as follows:
*Note: All Badjo Suits come with a stand
Paintball:
Imagine a suit you could design for paintball. Where you and your team each have specific roles during combat. Depending on where you get hit and how hard, a life bar on your HUD will slowly deplete until you are out of the game.
Examples:
Marauders will be made heavier but will take less damage so the user will be able to step into the middle of the battlefield and take on multiple opponents.
The leader will have a video game style map on their HUD revealing the positions of all the enemies and be able to coordinate attacks.
You will be able to communicate with all your teammates through your helmet. However the start up costs to finish these versions of the Badjo Suit will require more funding. Thus, making it a stretch goal.

Donor Awards:
These are the shirts and sweaters that will be received by donors who donated $50 or more!
Below is an example of a fully rendered poster of Badjo Suit:
Badjo Suit Weapons are just as customizable as the full suit. Tell us what you want it to look like and what functions you want it to have.
Badjo Suit exoskeleton Arms are just as customizable as the full suit. Tell us what you want it to look like and what functions you want it to have. Below is a prototype that was designed with the Mark 2.
Badjo Suit Helmets are just as customizable as the full suit. Tell us what you want it to look like and what functions you want it to have.
*The estimated delivery is what we believe will be the latest that the awards will be delivered. We will start production of all items in September so many will receive their items earlier than listed. But the final ones will be delivered around the estimated delivery dates.

Risks and challenges
Production may be the biggest risk because all of the parts are custom-designed by our engineers and are made to be put together in a very precise way. So creating the molds and manufacturing the components can be very expensive.
We will do everything we can to make suits look as close to what the user wants as possible but because of the skeleton of the suit there is a limit to how closely we can make our suits look like fictional characters who already exist (mainly the very slim ones). We will however, send concept art to the user before we start building until the design is a design that we both agree on.
As with all technology, first generations may sometimes come with small problems. All of our systems are checked and work properly but technical malfunctions are always a possibility.
