They're cute, they're sexy, they're scary and they're fun! Coming soon, a full deck of Monster Pin Up Girl Playing Cards featuring 54 illustrations by me, Bobby Timony, and a sweet Hardcover Art Book showcasing the Card Art with a foreword written by renowned artist Molly Crabapple!

Imagine a deck of playing cards, each one featuring a different monster lovingly illustrated in a playful pin up girl pose. Thats 52 completely different monsters, plus Dr. Jekyll & Ms. Hyde as the jokers!

Now Imagine a great 9X12 hardcover art book featuring this art, plus concept art, preliminary pencil sketches and commentary, introduced with a foreword written by renowned artist, Molly Crabapple!

What I'd like to do is fund the printing of this unique deck of cards, plus the hardcover art book featuring the illustrations.

Where is all that money going?
Most of the money will go to the printing costs involved with making these cards and the hardcover art book. The playing cards and the art book will both cost around $3000 to print. The rest is to cover the shipping costs from the printers and other related costs.

So why me, why now, why Kickstarter?
It was my brother's idea. He collects playing cards and we were playing a game with some of his various decks. It occurred to him that we could make a cool deck of cards with all original art on them.
I thought it'd be fun to draw a Monster deck. Peter liked the idea of Pin Up Girls, so we combined them in what we thought might be the best idea ever.

As I mulled it over, it occurred to me what an excellent idea this was. I could do it in my spare time in between jobs. It would provide new material for my art blog, help me connect with a growing audience, and increase my profile as not just a comics guy, but as an illustrator as well. And when the deck was finished, I'd have something great to sell at my various comic con appearances. Plus I love drawing pretty ladies! Everybody likes pretty ladies! Then I thought, heck, if I'm gonna have 54 new illustrations, I might as well make a sweet book out of them!

So I've been working on these illustrations for over a year now. I only have a few more left to draw. They've been far and away the most popular images on my blog!
But if I want to do it, I have to do it right. I can't afford to have this made by myself, but I've seen the power of Kickstarter first hand. I've been involved in three successful Kickstarter comics campaigns so far. I was a contributing artist on Monster Elementary and Schmuck. I'm the lead artist of The Horror Lovers. I know that with you're help we can make things happen!

That's where you come in. I need your help to see this project through to the end.
Help me raise the funds to bring the Monster Pin Up Girls to life! You'll love the cards, you'll love the book! They'll make great unique gifts as well! Plus you'll become a patron of the arts by helping an independent artist realize a project that would be impossible to do on his own!
Thank you, everybody!
Bobby Timony

Risks and challenges
Monster Pin Up Girls has been a side project I've been working on for a while now. I'd draw a monster pin up girl, and throw the art up on my blog. The goal has always been to collect them all into a deck of cards, and now that I have most of the art finished it seemed like a good time to launch the kickstarter, especially with Halloween right around the corner.
I've done most of my homework already. I have a price quote and a place to print the book. The only thing I need to finish is the art. I'll keep posting a new girl every week, until the deck is finished. That should make for some fun status updates!
The biggest challenge I see now is meeting our goal. $8,000.00 is a lot of money! Having recently been involved in a successful kickstarter, (The Horror Lovers) I know how tough this is going to be!
But making a deck of cards and a quality art book doesn't come cheap. The money I'm asking for will cover the costs of printing and shipping. Hopefully, I can make a little money selling the cards and books after the fact.
I certainly wouldn't be able to afford to make this happen on my own, so thats why I'm turning to you. This is a great project, and the end result will be worth every penny, I promise you! Help me bring the Monster Pin Up Girls to life!
