About

"Finest Undead Coop Killing” is a 3D, top down shooter for up to 4 players where you have to fight against endless hordes of zombies, which spawn in waves and come in different types with different attacks and moves.

We want to create a straight forward action game with some tactics, which is meant to be played in couch coop. Our goal is to fill the gap of good couch coop games and to bring you a quality game to play with your friends.

On your way through the waves you will level up, choose your class and choose your special perks, which will only last for some waves and will be replaced by new ones. You won’t just run and shoot brainlessly, but you will have to concentrate and use your special abilities wisely in order to survive in this game.

The game ends, when all players are dead, which is inevitable to come. To fight the zombies you will use randomly generated weapons with different qualities and stats. Because of this you will have different weapons each time you play.

After surviving wave three, you can choose your class. For example the TANK is stronger with melee weapons, can get a lot of armor and draw the attention of a group of zombies as his special ability. The RANGER has improvements for ranged weapons and can shoot a powerful exploding bullet. The third class is called the SPECIALIST which unlocks special weapons like flamethrower, gatling and rocketlauncher. The specialist's class ability is to heal his teammates.

After surviving wave five, it's time to choose your special perk. These grant you passive bonuses which only last for some waves, but can influence your gameplay massively.

The developing process so far was long and sometimes hard, but always fun. The main work has been done by three core members and some test players. The main team consists of two programmers and an artist. We use Unity and blender for most of developing. For our characters and zombies we chose mixamo models.

It all started as another hobby project among friends until we realized this could be worth sharing with others. The first feedback from our testers and friends was extremely positve and motivating. Investing most of our free time for the past 6 months into creating more weapons, zombies and maps, we came close to a final version of the game, which is still work in progress, but already stable and fun!

Risks and challenges

Our advantage is our low need for capital because unity is free and there are many free community assets. If the project is funded, there will be no risks of fail because the game is already in an advanced state.
We invest a lot of time, not in order to earn a lot of money but to create something creative for the gaming community.

But founding a little indy company and selling a product comes with costs. With the money we hope to collect for this project, these costs will be covered. Additional money will be invested in paid assets and professional software.

Finest Undead Coop Killing will be released on steam for Windows in 2019. The release for other plattforms is not planed at the moment. Our game will cost between 5 and 15€, the goal is to keep the price as low as possible but it also depends on the success of this kickstarter project.
