About this project
"CARS" - A Short Film by The Invisible World
What do you remember about your first car?
"Cars" is a unique Short Film/Music Video produced by Kansas City rock band The Invisible World (Facebook.com/theinvisibleworld) - in conjunction with Major Oak Productions (Facebook.com/Majoroakproductions) & Hawleywood Films (vimeo.com/hawleywoodfilms).
Based in the deep rooted attachments that we develop with seemingly inanimate objects, the song and story of the video aim to speak to our deepest connections to the things that make you...you. Is it possible that lifeless things can have a personality? Can we truly love things that have no ability to "love" us back?
For this project we are trying to blend the lines between Music Video and Short Film. There will be some story setup and wrap-up on both sides of the "music video" portion of the film. As we've been working on the concept, we've been referring to it as a "Short Film with a music backbone".
Your contributions will go to the following:
- Camera equipment & Lens rentals
- Vehicle Rentals
- Location Fees and Filming Insurance
- Actor wages (We are trying to keep costs down, but to ensure a great final product we are open to paying for some of the best talent KC has to offer)
- Production Costs (Special Fx rigging, Set Dressing, Costuming, etc)
- Post Production Optimization (ensuring that our film looks the best it possibly can in the end)
Risks and challenges
Often these types of projects appear simpler than they really are. We have some very interesting and compelling scenes planed for this film, however they will be difficult to accomplish with out monetary commitment.
Partnering with Major Oak Productions and Hawleywood Films brings expertise and a starting point for film equipment; but still the biggest challenge we foresee is obtaining the best equipment and talent for the project. We want nothing less than the best for this project and with your help we are confident that we can accomplish that goal.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
