I am a conversationalist. Sure, I am an author, singer, songwriter and recording artist (13 solo albums - one more on the way, six with Sweet Comfort Band and three with the NehoSoul Band). But conversations are at the core of everything I do.
I've been recording and performing for years in part because I spend a lot of time talking with my audience. My two latest books -- Spoke To God. He Said... and Dear God...Really? -- are based on conversations with God.
This Kickstarter project is about having conversations in new ways (click the graphic above to watch the video about it). I'll be sitting down in studio for some video conversations with award-wining producer Christopher Redner.
Ready, as I call him, has been a friend for decades -- I met him when he was still a teen and he's been involved in a lot of projects with me -- a trip to Peru, the Slow Revival Tour, my Blue Skies album, the Big Voice Tour, my last Kickstarter campaign, my concerts on Stageit and more. Ready will be getting an assist on this project from YOU. Check out the That's Me On TV reward over there --> to see how you can ask questions and even appear in the video. My answers to your questions and Ready's will be the core content for the Conversations DVD.
I'm also hoping to bring the conversation to your town. Check out the Host "Conversations With Bryan Duncan" In Your Town reward over there --> (this reward is ideal for local businesses, charities, churches or other groups hoping to generate publicity) for details on how I can come to your city to answer questions, talk about what you're doing and autograph copies of my books and latest music album. If you know people at good charities doing great work that could use promotional help, please share this article with them.
Speaking of my latest album -- I hope to release it early this summer. I’m loving sharing the writing and recording process with Kickstarter backers. I'm doing several online concerts for Kickstarter backers where I sing and talk about new songs that I'm considering for the album.
Many people who missed my first campaign have asked if you can still be a part of the album project. You bet! I’d love to have you involved. Check out how in the rewards -->.
I'm excited about the new songs and can't wait to record and release them. By backing this project you'll help me produce the best music possible and ensure that more people get to hear it. Plus you'll receive behind-the-scenes access as I do that. See details below on some special concerts I'll be doing for Kickstarter backers.
You may already know I'm a social media enthusiast. I love the interaction with you on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Stageit, ReverbNation and here on Kickstarter. If we can surpass the goal for this project I'll use some of the funds to find other ways to connect with you - like a mobile app. The app would allow you to listen to my music, watch videos, get ideas and inspiration for your conversations with God, etc.
So, please join the conversation. It’s just won’t be the same without you.
You can be a HUGE help by sharing this page and other related stories with your friends and family on social media, especially Facebook and Twitter. There are some links right under the video above that make it easy. The more people we reach before the deadline the better chance we have of making some good music together. So start sharing today!
Here's an example of what I share in the Sneak Peak. This is an unfinished version of the song, ICU, that I'm working on for the new Conversations album. We recorded this at one of my online concerts - this is how they look and sound. I'll be doing some more concerts for Kickstarter backers, where I sing and discuss new songs I'm considering for the album.
Here are Christopher Redner's behind-the-scenes reports from the Slow Revival tour for ZMusic.
Christopher Redner and Ray Ware produced the Big Voice Tour. Here's Joy Is A Singable Thing performed on that tour. You can also read my reflections on Anointed, Crystal Lewis and Israel Houghton.
I've been writing songs with Phil Keaggy - what a talent he is. Here's Phil and I working out a song live on stage.
I'll be offering some special concerts for Kickstarter backers on Stageit. Check out myStageit concert schedule.
I’m planning to record "No Words," a song that's been around for several years but never officially finished and recorded. It has been an ice breaker for concerts in front of people unfamiliar with me.I’ve performed it with a humorous approach but the more I sing it the more I see the sophistication of the chord structure. My local band leader, Kelly Cowan, suggested I slow the progression down to hear it. The song is taking on a very sincere tone in offering to God thanks for his graciousness!
I've been working with John Schreiner to remix and embellish my basic version that has keyboard, drum loop and vocals. He will make a real finished production out of it. John is a spectacular arranger and producer with perfect pitch too. He’s written several songs with me including "Strollin' on The Water."
Here's a clip of my describing my new book.
