In Frame-Work, you and your friends are suspected of committing a crime. Your goal is to prove your innocence by undermining the credibility of the other suspects.
Each suspect starts with Credibility Tokens. These tokens are lost at the end of each round of questioning if the suspect is unconvincing or busted. When a suspect runs out of Credibility Tokens, they are convicted and are eliminated from the game. You win the game when all other suspects have been convicted.
In front of each suspect is an open space known as their dossier. During a round of questioning, files are placed into a dossier side-by-side, from left to right. In different situations, files in a dossier will be face-up (revealed) or face-down (concealed).
The order of the files in a dossier can only be changed by file effects. Upon having three adjacent revealed Evidence files in your dossier you are busted and lose the round of questioning.
When your turn begins, perform one of the following actions:
- Draw and Play a File
- Reveal a File in Your dossier
- Plead the 5th (Pass)
Draw and Play a File
If possible, you draw one file from the deck and then must either use an Evidence file from your hand or plant a file in any suspect’s dossier.
Using an Evidence file
To use an Evidence file, pick one from your hand and place it face-up in front of your dossier. Read the effect aloud and follow its directions. When finished resolving all effects, move the Evidence file to the end of your dossier, keeping it revealed. If the Evidence file has stars on it, it is a Direct Evidence file (⭐) and is placed at the end of the targeted suspect’s dossier instead.
Planting an Evidence or Alibi file
To plant a file, move one from your hand to the end of any suspect’s dossier. Planted files always enter dossiers concealed and remain so until revealed. Alibi files can only be played from the hand in this way.
Reveal a file in Your Dossier
Pick one concealed file in your dossier and reveal it.
Revealing an Evidence file
When an Evidence file is revealed, its effect does not activate and it remains revealed.
Revealing an Alibi file
When an Alibi file is revealed, carry out its effect and leave it revealed. If the effect of an Alibi file reveals another Alibi file, the owner of the newly revealed file then carries out its effect. Once all file effects have been resolved, resume the initiating suspect’s turn. If an Alibi file is the fifth to be revealed, no effects are carried out and the round ends immediately.
Plead the 5th
Take no further action for your current turn.
End of a Round of Questioning
A round of questioning immediately ends when one of the following occurs:
- All suspects consecutively Plead the 5th.
- All 5 Alibi files are revealed.
- All but one suspect is busted.
At the end of a round of questioning, the suspect with the most revealed Alibi files is the winner of the round and loses no Credibility Tokens. Any suspects who were busted during the round lose two Credibility Tokens. All other suspects are considered unconvincing and lose one Credibility Token. In the case of a tie for winner, all tied suspects win the round.
If any players have zero remaining Credibility Tokens, they are convicted. The winner deals the next round of files to all suspects who are not convicted. The next round of questioning begins with the suspect on their left.

Brutiful Games is a small indie studio based in Dallas, TX. We started as a group of students from the University of Texas at Dallas with a passion and a dream. Since then, we solidified our team, registered as an official company, and began a project that we believe in.
We are trying to fund our first production run of the game with your help. With a goal of $8,250.00, we will be able to afford the production and sale of 1,000 copies of Frame-Work.
After a year of planning and testing, Brutiful Games is finally ready to break out into the world with our Kickstarter project for Frame-Work. We are hopeful that our brief explanation of the rules are enough to pique your interest and are thankful to those of you who have decided to support us!

Risks and challenges
Fortunately, our game is fully designed and ready for production; however, we are collectively faced with the common roadblock of lacking the funds to support an initial run. We have budgeted out the goal to ensure that we can support all fees for things including purchases of backer tier rewards as well as an average shipping cost for each item.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
