Have a question?
You just sent me a FindKeep.Love spam message from your Kickstarter campaign mailing list.
That email is unsolicited, you've just sent spam.
That is not OK.
Great product but your credibility just plummeted in my eyes.
@ John Dzurenko, Are you using an ice and water mix in the tower and still seeing the drip rate come to a stop?
I have the same complaint as many other Cold Bruer users - The drip valve is very difficult to properly set. I have to continually check to see if it has stopped dripping or has sped up.
Have you developed an improved valve? If so, I would love to try it. If improved, I would be more than happy to post a good review. As of now, I could not do that with all honesty.
@Ryan Gray, Replacement parts (jugs included) can be purchased through our online store here: www.bruer.co
Hey, don't know if anyone is still reviewing these comments.Asked a few months ago whether additional jugs could be purchased as mine shattered, got no response. Anybody have any ideas?
ive made plenty of brews with my system and I love it.
I feel like i have a very hard time getting a slow drip rate. Usually its very fast, and I have to physically push the drip adjustment knob to the side to have it slow down.
I disassembled the drop mechanism, and maybe I put it back together wrong?
any help would be appreciated.
@Jack Chen I'm from Malaysia and I don't know if it got lost in transit. @Bruer.. I'm in desperate need for your help
Hey guys... Look what I've found...
Hello, Thanks you for the Cold Bruer...... all cool!!!!! *)
I have been following comments for tips on the brewing process. After adding an ounce or so of water, I stir the grounds with a toothpick to dampen, then add the filter and go from there. The drip control needs close attention, but overall I am very happy with the Cold Bruer!
Oooh! Bruer finally arrived today! The glass is thinner than I expected, but the design looks good. As it was shipped to the office, I've got to wait until the end of the day to start playing around with it. Really looking forward to it.
Gosh, this is a really long day... :)
I don't think that the lid is supposed to be tight fitting. It just rests on the top
I did test the plunging ability of the lid and that seems to work, even though it is very loose fitting if not plunged.
Please advise anyone else if the top lid just "falls off"?
I did raise this before my replacement part was sent out, it only has one lip and seems to have some sort of manufacture error. :/
My new tower jug arrived today, well packaged with lots of air pillows and foamy bits, although quite daring to not have one single Fragile or Glass sticker on the box.
Glad it all arrived though, looking forward to the first brew!
On a final note, I have to say a thicker glass would make this a far more robust product, the tower glass seems a bit thicker than the filter bit, even while washing it, I was scared of it breaking.
Thanks for the customer service, replacement part arrived yesterday, well wrapped in lots of foamy sheets.
Now looking forward to my first brew... carefully to not break any part. Am worried about it, esp. reading here about glass breaking at cleaning or simply placing Bruer to the fridge oO
The glass is really thin. In case you produce another batch for retail, pls. ensure that the glass will be more robust, for the benefit of all future buyers!
@Andy. Sorry for the mix-up. We'll send out a Bruer Pot today.
Replacement arrived this morning, I opened the package to find you have sent the wrong part. As I stated in my message the Bruer Pot was broken. You have sent a tower. Can you please rectify this.
Woot, just spotted Cold Bruer at Sur La table stores. Congrats on expanding
I'm still waiting for my Bruer... It's package LZ628863413US, left the US April 26th and ever arrived. International backer from Israel. Disappointed. Also, by the comments I've read here, I'm half expecting to receive it broken. :( Also, a bit disappointed that the guys didn't keep blogging about coffee experiments since early December.... :(
I nearly did 10 runs with the cold bruer and it is very cool.
Although I have problems with the water sinking into the coffee which results in dry and unused coffee. I did it as shown in the video and the first time I used the cold bruer the water was sinking into the coffee very fast when I put a little drip of water onto the grounds before I put all the water with the ice into the bruer. But since the first time, the water stays for very long on top of the coffee and sinks very very slow. I ended up prewetting the coffee by putting a lot of water on top of the coffee and steer with a spoon to make sure all coffee is wet.
Does anybody else experiencing the same and has someone found a sollution to this?
@ Andy and Jorge. You're replacement parts are going out today. Sorry for the delay!
@Mike, Sorry to hear about the breakage. Send us an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org with what part broke, and we'll send out a replacement part.
I'm still waiting for my replacement pot. Can I please have an ETA?
My Cold Bruer broke after a week while holding it. I contacted Cold Bruer and they never sent a replacement.
Mine broke : ( - it was pretty cool but I went into the fridge and it was broken.
Mine arrived today all the way to Santiago de Chile, in one piece! and it works flawlessly!!!
My considerations are about the glass It's super fragile, I'm afraid it will break just by looking at it, but it works and it looks amazing.
Received the package in Singapore with package intact but tower shattered. I think it dislodged from the jug and wedged into an awkward position. When the weights inside moved around during transit it must have hit it's weak spot. The glass is too thin - it's extruded from the bottom then widened. It shattered at the lip where it's thinnest.
First batch brewed and the result is awesome! But i'm pissing my pants everytime i move around the glass parts and nearly shaking my pants off when i'm washing it. Im not super confident with this product and i'm afraid it will break any day.
Replacement tower received. Thank you! Now to brewing without improvising :D
After cleaning up the broken pieces, I have to say that I'm quite disappointed in the quality of glass used. It is exceptionally thin. I had thought it would have been the normal thickness of say a coffee plunger or generic percolator.
Even washing something that thin could have certain risk.
I do believe that if the glass were of "normal" thickness that it would have survived the trip.
The box also only had one "Fragile Glass" sticker on it, which was on the top. When I received the box, it was given to me on its side, just a brown looking box and no indication that there was anything fragile in there. Only when I actually went to open it did I see the sticker, so it is possible that those transporting it may also have missed it.
My bruer arrived today, all the way in sunny South Africa.
Unfortunately it did not arrive in one piece. While the packaging was nice and tight, there was no bubble wrap or airbags to cushion anything.
There was something rumbling around inside, I had hoped it was styrofoam chips, but as I opened it, there were shards of glass and I had to finish opening it over a newspaper.
Was so looking forward to it, very very sad.
Replacement tower received.
Mailing Date: 4/18/2014 - Tracking: LJ935691093US - no sign of the package :( could you please try to find out what happened to my package (international backer - Austria)
The tracking status says “attempted delivery on 14th may.” But till today I have not received the package or any notification that a delivery was done.
Could you check in with your shipper? I have emailed my mobile number to email@example.com.
Replacement cold bruer arrived safely today. Looking forward to putting it to work!
My Bruer was being sent by USPS and their website says "Attempted Delivery - Item being held, addressee being notified" but I haven't received any notification. Ref is LZ624411276US - can you poke them and find out what's going on please?
I've had my cold bruer for about a month and have used it only a handful of times. As the weather warmed up I was looking forward to using it all summer long. As I was holding the top part over my trashcan to clean out the grounds from this morning's coffee--it cracked. There It was not bumped against anything, I was simply holding it in one hand as I took off the bottom filter with the other and it cracked (luckily unlike some comments below, it only cracked and did not shatter).
Not sure what to do now--but I am very dubious of the longevity and durability of the current design.
Have tried 3 batches so far. (coffee/cold water/ice) 1)65g medium grind/550ml/150ml 2)50g medium grind/450ml/50ml 3)65g slightly larger grind than test 1/550ml/150ml. Coffee beans were freshly grinded Kenyan AA and all tests done in fridge. So far test 1 yielded best results but I need a smaller grind. Test 2 and 3 tasted very watered down but test 3's drip finished in 2 hours instead of 3-4 hours.
Received mine in Malaysia today. Luckily it's all intact! Also large than I expected, and I don't think I can possibly fit this inside my fridge, haha.
G'day @bruer. Possibly asking this question again cause I can't find my original post. I'm an international backer, paid $150 for 2 units (no mugs). One arrived a few weeks ago now, but the other is still MIA. Any advice?
I dropped them an email with attached photos of the broken glassware that i had received. :( Was kinda looking forward to making some cold coffee but i'm not sure anymore if it is still going to be possible. Still waiting for a response.
Received replacement pitcher today, which I am very happy about and in the process of making my first pot. I am NOT very happy that I have to pick out some glass shards from my hands as I has to take the all the other parts from the broken package that originally came in. There were little glass shards on the silicone and top part of the bruer.
Still nothing here, I've direct messaged 2 weeks ago, trying this now and e-mailed you. I backed on day 2 and still not received an e-mail or anything. My mother who was a week later has had hers for about a month. Was I lost somewhere?
Hi there, I received my shipment last week and like many others, it came broken. I sent out a message to Bruer (Gabe?) immediately but have yet to receive a reply. I've sent another message again, hope to hear back soon. Thanks.
just got it today in the mail and it came intact just one thing its a bit small than i thought from the video but its better than nothing thanks a lot guys
@Tim did you fill out the shipping survey?
I still haven't received my Bruer, why so long? When will I receive? Super bummed on this deal.
Received a broken unit last month and emailed them on 4/19, but never got a response back. Sent another one today. What's going on guys?
So 15 days ago I arrived home to broken glass. Immediately emailed and got a prompt response. A week went by in eager anticipation. NOTHING. So I called last week and was told I should have it by the end of the week. More anticipation as Friday rolled around. And ...... NOTHING.
I really with when people say they will ship something out they actually would.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I EVER WILL RECEIVE MY BRUER .... No longer anticipating
My postman just delivered the Bruer system this morning in the UK. Pleased to report no broken glass! Now off to make some coffee!
