Woodstalk, issue #3
Rock-n-roll action comic series about the now-forgotten zombie outbreak at the seminal music festival of the 1960s.
I hope the video sums it up pretty well – Woodstalk is my new comic series that tells the story of the zombie outbreak during Woodstock. Issue #1: Alarm Clock is available now on Amazon (or view it for free on Graphicly), and issue #2: What's Wrong is underway.
But this Kickstarter campaign is for issue #3: Other Side. Specifically, it's so I can hire Louisa Bertman to illustrate it. You're probably here because you already know she's an incredible artist, steeped in the rock-n-roll tradition like a teabag full of speed, and she'll knock this issue out of the park... but only with your help.
Every penny of the goal goes straight to Louisa. Anything beyond that helps cover print costs. (booooring...) Wrong! Not boring! Helping out with the print costs lets me print issues more frequently. So the more you contribute, the more Woodstalk you get! You see, it's all about you here at the Kickstarters. Plus, if you're really generous, Louisa will even draw YOU into the comic! Geez, it doesn't get better than that. Really. Take a look at those rewards over there -->
Thanks so much for your help. Be sure to like Woodstalk on Facebook to stay in touch beyond issue #3.
Oh, and hey, I realize the video breezes past the comic images, so please take a look below at some excerpts from issue #1, and a few sneak peeks at sketches for issue #2.
Risks and challenges
With your help on the creative side, the only challenge – and it's not much of a challenge – is that I won't know the exact production/delivery dates until the artwork is finished and I can send it off to the printer. I anticipate you will have your freshly printed comic by late fall. Probably in time for the holidays – ahem. But I will keep you posted along the way as dates get firmer.
