Manhattan's Brine and Dine Collective is happy to be brewing its inaugural batch of live, fermented, raw sauerkraut! New goal! $8000!
214 backers pledged $7,580 to help bring this project to life.


This week, we screened all of the patches for you, our backers!  We pulled these all by hand, so each one is unique.  Here's the scene in my apartment on Tuesday:

Additionally, we went to THREE different Department of Health offices in a day, and were told either that what we want is impossible, that we should go to the Dept. of Buildings, or the Dept. of Agriculture.  Very helpful!  We're still putting in calls and working on a solution, so expect more news soon!

We've got some leads on how to proceed in establishing the restaurant's kitchen with the Dept. of Health and simultaneously using that kitchen to produce Dept. of Agriculture certified food for sale.  More news to come on that front shortly!

Tuesday, we plan to print your postcards (we couldn't get access to a professional paper-cutter this week, and we want them to look good!) and then get them in the mail and out to our backers who didn't order kraut ASAP.  Aditionally, the t-shirts have arrived from the distributor and we'll be printing those right after we're done with the thank you postcards.

I don't think I have to tell you again, but just in case: it's getting more exciting every day here at Brine and Dine HQ.  The pieces haven't fallen easily into place, so we've stepped up our efforts to guide them there with a firm hand and it's paying off!
