I contributed at the $100 level. So, I should have physically received:

      - "Beautiful Boy" MP3 (received)
      - "Bridegroom" DVD (received)
      - "Bridegroom" T-shirt (NOT received)
      - "Bridegroom" Blu-ray (NOT received)

As noted above, I have the MP3 and the DVD, but no t-shirt, and no blu-ray. (Frankly, I would have preferred to just get the blu-ray instead of the DVD. What am I going to do with two copies of the movie?) It's been almost three years since this campaign was funded, and almost half a year since we last got any updates about this. What gives? I get that the bottom line is the producers bit off more than they can chew when they said they could get all these rewards out within a few months. Poor planning on their part, but there's nothing to be done about that now. What frustrates me is this complete silence for months at a time, and then a quick blurb saying, "Still working on it, thanks for your patience. Sunshine and rainbows, lolzors!" that really tells us nothing. What I would like to see is a monthly email with the numbers showing their progress in sending out these rewards. If they'd just do that, you might still have some grumblers because it's taking so long, but overall they'd probably have a lot less complaints because we backers would be able to see some actual progress on this, and have some expectation of when we'd be receiving our rewards.

I like to support local businesses, but I don't just go into these places to toss money at the owner and leave. If I or other customers don't get any benefit in return, why bother supporting them? The same principal applies here. My sense of altruism is appeased because I contributed to something I believed in, and it's succeeded. However, the producers introduced a business side of this when they guaranteed goods in exchange for money. Given the circumstances behind why this film needed to be made, business seems to be a dirty subject to bring into it. Nevertheless, it’s there, and at the end of the day, we all gave money with the guarantee of something in return, and that guarantee has not been fulfilled for what appears to be a large majority of us, judging by the comments thread. Campaigns like Bridegroom, where the creators drop the ball but don’t want to take responsibility, make people leery of funding sites like Kickstarter or IndieGoGo. By not fulfilling their promise, they are hurting the funding potential for every other funding campaign out there.

I have pledge on the 50 USD level and haven't received any reward as of now ... getting a bit worried by the radio silence ...

    3. Creator Daniel Aleksandersen on March 3

      No reward, no update. #scam

    4. Creator Brant Dixon on February 11

this whole project has been a joke !!

    5. Creator Karen Waters on February 6

Is this bailout being done alphabetically? Being a "W" really sucks … Last update was October … I know it's not that long ago but any update about our physical rewards would be great.

After all, last message back in Jan 2014 stated "Updated Jan 7 2014 - apparently DVDs being sent within next 3 weeks."

    6. Creator Anna Vuong on January 27

I have since moved since I backed this project. Who do I need to contact to provide a new shipping address please? Many thanks.

    7. Creator Alan Greene on January 21

It's been 3 months since the last update. Can someone please provide a progress update? How many backers still waiting for rewards, estimated time remaining until everyone receives theirs? We're approaching 3 years since this campaign was successfully funded, and well over a year since the movie was released.

I agree with the comments of others that it's not all about the rewards. I am delighted to have had the opportunity to back this project and play my small part in getting this incredibly important message out to the world. However, I would like to actually see the movie I contributed to...

    8. Creator Aaron Lum on January 18

I understand the financial burden to send the DVDs out. How about sending a link to the movie to watch it? It now seems that every Tom, Dick and Harry has seen this movie but me, and the other supporters. It has been several years now...

    9. Creator Der Peter on January 12

      what about new shipping updates?

    10. Creator luciola on December 31

I probably won't even watch the DVD, but condoning unmet promises is only encouraging more frauds on this community.

    11. Creator Bill Casti on December 6

I don['t care about the gimmies. I contribute for the project, not what they're going to give me. Get a life, folks! The STORY here has always been what was the most important thing. Whether or not you get your videos or heated cushions or whatever your "reward" was is immaterial. If it takes freebies for you to contribute to promoting important love stories and other stuff, then you deserve to not get your stuff. There's more important things in life.

    12. Creator Bill Casti on December 6

My address has changed. How do I get the new address to you?

    13. Creator David Hedison on December 4

I had been waiting as well. Glad to see that I am not the only one feeling a little bit jaded and highly disappointed.

    14. Creator CHIEN LIANG CHE on October 20

I wrote a message but no mail reply and got nothing. I am really disappointed...

    15. Creator Jonathan Allred on October 20

Just got an email which reminded me of this project. I did get my DVD (albeit late, and after I could watch it on OWN or Netflix) and I was shocked to see they are still shipping things out. It's sad to see how poorly this was run. If I was still in some of your shoes I would be pissed as well. The only reason I can see that they are shipping 100 per week is due to not having the money for shipping (which is part of what the $384,375 was supposed to go to.

Disappointed that people who backed this in support of the story, now are disappointed.

    16. Creator Mairead Heffernan on October 15

      Still waiting....
I am always donating to Kickstarters and IndieGoGo campaigns and every single one bar this one have followed through with their promises. It's been over two years and I've had nothing from you guys at all. If others can follow through with their commitment, so can you. I am beyond angry about this!

    17. Creator Thomas Canty on October 10

I donated at the $1K level and I have received nothing. Not even a phone call.

    18. Creator Ryan Thompson on October 2

yay 2 years and still nothing.

    19. Creator Mara Copland on September 30, 2014

Never got a DVD, anything. I've funded a lot of projects on Kickstarter/Indiegogo and this is the ONLY one to not give a crap about its backers. I have to say I'm incredibly disappointed with everyone behind-the-scenes. You dropped the ball. No updates since July. I hope you guys are disgusted with yourselves for not fulfilling your promises.

    20. Creator Gabriele Duffy on September 16, 2014

Very disappointing!! Have been waiting patiently to receive the DVD. Don't even get a reply to my email queries. I don't think I'll support a Kickstarter project in the future.

    21. Creator Asa David Coulson on September 8, 2014

still waiting on you to fulfill your promises... when should people expect you to do that?

    22. Creator Warren Kendrick on August 29, 2014

I funded three other Kickstatrer projects. To date, I have gotten lots of lip and no delivery. Kickstarter should be called Lipserver. They make money of false promises. I will NEVER fund another project through this site again. No matter how strongly I believe in it, it is all a fairytale.

    23. Creator Harry C on August 14, 2014

What a disappointment. The movie has been sold around the world and played at film festivals and on netflix, with the creators getting a ton of publicity and being flown around the world, and yet over a year and a half late, still no reward. Disgusting.

    24. Creator Jeff K on August 1, 2014

So... Are the DVD rewards still forthcoming? Sounds like some people got them, others nothing. I supported the project because I believed in it, but the lack of communication and forthrightness really disappoints me.

    25. Creator Anna Jones on July 28, 2014

People who gave $1000 still haven't received ANYTHING? Yes, it is a great cause, but if there is no obligation for the project to follow through with their rewards, why would Kickstarter let them get away with that?

    26. Creator luciola on July 21, 2014

Trust takes a lifetime to build, and only one second to destroy. LGBT is not all that makes up a person. Accountabilty, integrity and responsibility matters too.

    27. Creator Leslie on July 4, 2014

Still nothing for the $1000 I gave to the project. I called and talked to Linda's husband three months ago, "we'll get your awards in the mail right away." Uh huh. Then the email update came out saying they were getting everything out within a couple of weeks. That was a couple of months ago.

Kickstarter's response has been to email reminders to the project of their obligations. There is no obligation for the project to follow through.

    28. Creator Shawna Lowrance on June 30, 2014

Still have yet to receive the DVD or TShirt or anything else. I get that this is a fabulous project and it was for a good cause and blah, blah, blah. A good number of projects on kickstarter are good causes and they deliver what is promised. If there is funding to travel the world and join Presidents and sit on Optah's couch, there should be funding to follow through on promises made. I am beginning to wonder if a class action lawsuit might be I order to see any sort of results.

    29. Creator Steffanie Flack on June 26, 2014

I have not received my rewards either. I emailed them& they never responded. I have since moved & the mail forward is no longer active.

    30. Creator James Bond, Q.C. on June 12, 2014

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that was annoyed by the fact that I got nothing in return for the $100 I pledged. Yes yes we all get that there we were donating at the time because we believed in the project. My issue is that the Thomasons and Shane Bitney Crone are flying about the world promoting the film and basking in the limelight while those of us who funded the project don't even warrant an email thank you. I sent a Facebook message to Shane several months ago to voice my disappointment, and his response was... nothing. Surprise.

    31. Creator India Mussell-McKay on June 2, 2014

Just got the email update, and came on here to check it out, and honestly I'm so surprised so many people are mad about rewards. YES I waited forever till I finally got a DVD, but that DVD was not why I supported this film. A project like this is backed because of belief in the story, and it's need to be told and spread across the world. If I had never received any rewards, or even been offered any, I would have still backed this project because it MEANS something to me. I gave what I could, because I felt this film NEEDED to be made, end of story. Congratulations guys on getting this story out, and told. Another big step in searching for equality and changing perceptions.
Thank your for having the courage to share your story!

    32. Creator Steve Houldsworth on May 31, 2014

I received the DVD, but not any other rewards. I did see my name in the credits as a backer. But, I feel very differently than most of those commenting. I backed this project, as I have other creative projects, because I believed in the goal of the project. The rewards on Kickstarter are nice, but, honestly, I would have backed the project without them. The movie is beautiful and the publicity it has brought to LGBTQ inequalities is priceless.

    33. Creator Steven Stanley on May 31, 2014

Where the fuck is my DVD?

    34. Creator luciola on May 28, 2014

      No DVD no nothing.

    35. Creator Ryan Kett on May 8, 2014

Has anyone received a response from Kickstarter? What are they going to do about this?

I've asked them for help twice, and the only thing I've gotten from them is a Project Feedback Form to fill out. When are they going to put pressure on the creators to send out the rewards?

This has left such a sour taste in my mouth. I'm fairly new to Kickstarter, and I know I won't be backing any other projects until this is resolved.

    36. Creator Jonathan Hesler on May 7, 2014

So, I've managed to watch Bridegroom on Netflix.... still havent received my DVD in Canada... No response for a refund... This is garbage, what a scam.

    37. Creator Art Wong on May 7, 2014

Will never ever support a film project ever again. It is shameful how the creators of this project have mismanaged funds and communications to their backers while crowing about their success with the film.

    38. Creator Marc Feist on May 7, 2014

First and last project I supported. Not living in the USA I didn't even have a chance to watch the movie.

    39. Creator Thomas Canty on May 3, 2014

Still waiting have not even received a DID and I contributed at the 1K level

    40. Creator Eric Politzer on May 3, 2014

still nothing. hands down the worst managed Kickstarter we have supported. we have contacted KS and the producer on multiple occasions. not even the courtesy of a response from the producer. I guess our $500 did not mean anything to them. shameful

    41. Creator Christopher Allen on April 30, 2014

Like many other supporters, I still have not received my rewards. I notice Shane is coming to Australia, maybe he could bring the DVDs with him on his visit?
Frankly, it's very disappointing, I won't be supporting any Kickstarter projects in the future.

    42. Creator Brant Dixon on April 30, 2014

i still haven't even seen the film as im waiting on the dvd, not sure if i even wanna watch it anymore after this experience. I understand if they are having problems but leaving everyone in the dark is just wrong

    43. Creator Leslie on April 30, 2014

I, too, have emailed Kickstarter to let them know there has been no communication and no follow-through. I backed at the $1000 level, and did finally received the regular DVD, but none of the other items. I don't even care any more, I'm just pissed at being scammed and at the fact that they used us to get their project off the ground, then deserted us. Well played, Linda Bloodworth Thomason, well played.

    44. Creator Erik Oliver on April 18, 2014

I've again pinged Kickstarter itself to try to prod them into providing an update, it's pretty disgraceful.

    45. Creator Kayla Halleur on April 8, 2014

Backed for a DVD and t-shirt ($50 level) and have recieved nothing. Living in Australia, I knew the only way I was going to be able to see this was to back at a DVD level or higher. It was for a great cause, so I thought I'd back at a slightly higher level. This was the first project I backed on Kickstarter and am thoroughly disappointed that I have started to receive pledge rewards from other projects that I have since backed, but am still waiting on my this. Isn't it time we get an honest update about what's happening?

    46. Creator Shawna Lowrance on April 5, 2014

Still waiting to receive my DVD, t-shirt and movie poster. I am in the United States, where they were promised long ago. So disappointed in this unfortunate scam.

    47. Creator luciola on March 29, 2014

This was such a meaningful project I wanted to believe the people behind it are genuinely decent people. Failure to keep promises does not happen with decent people. Even if you are out of funds to deliver the physical DVD, at least give us a link to download it. The purpose behind this documentary wasn't to make money, was it? It was to spread a message. So uploading to a link, exposing it to potential piracy isn't such a big problem right?

    48. Creator Nicole Bradshaw on March 27, 2014

I got the DVD (in Australia) and just watched it - lots of tears... So glad the story got told.

    49. Creator Kieran Bright on March 22, 2014

Nothing but promises. No photo in the poster after all that effort. No dvd. No replies to messages. I feel as though I've been scammed and truly robbed of money and the spirit of Kickstarter.
