Our Opening Weekend Goal!
This post marks the first weekend of our project's launch and we're celebrating the concepts of creativity and crowdfunding with the '100x10' campaign.
OUR GOAL IS TO GET 100 FRIENDS & FOLLOWERS TO CHIP IN $10
(warning - you should only do this if you meet the following criteria):
-You have 10 bucks to spare.
-You promise not to regret that you didn't save that $10 for a late-night burrito.
-You believe in things you can't see.
-You at least kinda sorta like us.
-You really like our idea and want to be a part of it becoming a reality.
IF WE REACH 100 CONTRIBUTORS BY THE TIME WE WAKE ON MONDAY MORNING, WE WILL KAYAK TO THE SEA!
(what does that mean?)
-We presently live on a river.
-It's a 10-hour kayak trip to the ocean and back which has been tempting us ever since we arrived.
-The first time Brian tried to go, he was sabotaged after 30 minutes by a drunken bachelor party of crazy Kiwis.
-The first time Lesley attempted it, she fell directly into the water as she stepped in the kayak.
IT'S GOING TO BE AN ADVENTURE, AND WE PROMISE TO DOCUMENT IT AND PRESENT YOU WITH ONE SWEET VIDEO THIS WEEK SHOULD WE REACH OUR OPENING-WEEKEND GOAL!
So we're new at this Kickstarter thing, and realize you might be too. In short, we think Kickstarter is about two words - Creativity & Crowdfunding.
Creativity = thinking outside the box to make the world just that much more of a cool place to call home by contributing something new to its people (example: us and our idea).
Crowdfunding = a collection of fine folks coming together to make a big idea possible with lot of little servings of contributions (example: you and your awesomeness).
Kickstarter takes these two kinds of contribution and brings them together to form a perfect harmony of possibility. We're really digging it!
We couldn't do this without you. Seriously, it would be embarrassingly lonely.
Thank you for being great!
Brian & Lesley
