UPDATE (9/18): TWO NEW REWARDS AND MORE!
I've added 2 rewards. First, have breakfast with DC Comics writer Amy Chu at the Baltimore Comic Con this month and chat about comics, writing, breaking into comics and more!
Second, have dinner with GI Joe penciller and myself at the Baltimore Comic Con. That's 2/3 of the GI Joe artistic team! I'll buy dinner and a drink!
Also, I've done a few interviews about the project:
Here I am with The Audio Knights Theatre guys talking about the project:
And here's an interview I did over at Comics Alliance about the project:
The Snake Oil Podcast also plugged the KS on their show this week:
I'm Brian Shearer, a freelance artist who has worked on IDW's Transformers, Doctor Who, and G.I.Joe, and I want to give you a LOT of William The Last. www.WilliamTheLast.com hosts an incredible adventure in the making.
WHAT IS WILLIAM THE LAST?
“A young orphan finds his way to a strange world where good people are in hiding, a once peaceful civilization is in decay, and his own name is forbidden to be uttered. He is William the Last.”
After two years of producing the webcomic online, I want to take the story out of the computer and put it into your hands! Not familiar with William the Last? You can read it for free at williamthelast.com!
This Kickstarter campaign is to get the first issue (Chapter 1) in print and create a audio drama from William the Last.
Note: The Audio Drama will be available for free to every reward level.
HELP UNLOCK THE STRETCH GOALS!
Rewards include copies of the book (which includes bonus material, so the book runs over 30 pages) as well as original art and prints!
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!
In addition to printing comics that you can hold in your own hands, I'm partnering with The Audio Knights Theatre want to give you a more complete MULTIMEDIA COMIC EXPERIENCE.
www.TheAudioKnightsTheatre.com specializes in the creation of audiodramas for the comic book industry. By employing their stylish brand of Comic Book Performance Art and combining voiced dialogue with sound effects and music, their products offer the reader with a fully immersive experience.
If fully funded, this project will birth the creation of a full multimedia accompaniment to William the Last. This means you will get the following:
- Physical printings of WIlliam The Last (premium backers will receive signed copies)
- Full-episode audio dramas of each chapter of William The Last, available on iTunes, SoundCloud, Stitcher, and all RSS feeds(available audio dramas rendered in high definition)
- Digital comic book development utilizing Comixology.com, and the motion-enabled platforms of YouTube.com and MadeFire.com (Platforms enjoyed on a variety of platforms, from smartphones and tablets to desktop computers and video gaming consoles)
The entirety of this Complete Multimedia Comic Experience can be achieved by reaching the goal of $3,000.
Is this project worth $3,000 to fans of engaging stories told in creative ways?
The answer is YES!
Risks and challenges
As of right now the only hiccup I can see is if the printed book doesn't come out right due to printing issues. I want to make sure the end product is as vibrant as it is on the computer screen. Any delays will be communicated through Kickstarter so everyone will know exactly what the status of the book is.
I'm using a well-known printing company, so I don't foresee this happening. *fingers crossed*Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
