About
Thank you all for checking out my Kickstarter!

Hi! I'm Brian Russell and I make the webcomic, The Underfold - a gag webcomic about family, work, D&D and awkward moments. Making comics was one of the earliest dreams I had, and it has been a blast spending the last decade making Underfold Comics online. Over the last two years, I have been lucky enough to find an audience that enjoys this, and I'm excited to get these comics out of the internet and into your physical hands with a physical book!
Here's a few examples:

Details about the book: Hi Book, I'm Dad is a 7x8.5" softcover collection of over 135 of my favorite full-color Underfold Comics from the last two years--AND some exclusive comics!

We can make this thing happen together!

THANK YOU PAGE - Every backer's name will be added to a special Thank You Page inside the book, and a special page on my website. It also comes packaged with my eternal gratitude.

DIGITAL BOOK - It's the full book with all the thank you pages and everything, but in a PDF format.

PHYSICAL BOOK - Hi Book, I'm Dad is a 7x8.5" softcover collection of over 135 of my favorite full-color Underfold Comics from the last two years. AND a 4x6" "Exorcise" print. There are untouched, signed and drawn-in versions available.

STICKER SHEETS - 4x6" sticker sheets packed with as many stickers as I can cram in.

ENAMEL PINS - Hoping to add some designs if we make it to the stretch goal phase. The initial one is just the Brian head.

CUSTOM PORTRAIT - Get a custom 5x7" portrait print of you, and the digital file if you ever want to print more.

NEW!

CUSTOM COMIC - You and I will work together to bring an idea of yours to life. You will get a print of the finished product, and a print-ready digital file as well. Our masterpiece will also be published on my site/social media with credit to you (unless you'd rather not)

FAMILY PORTRAIT - I will draw your whole family and deliver you a 8x0" print and a print-ready digital file for any extra prints you'd like to do.

I can't wait to add some of these, but let's get funded first! :D

In an effort to be fully transparent, I have laid out my estimated budget below. It takes into account the printing and shipping from the printer I've selected, estimated shipping costs in and out of the US, physical rewards, Kickstarter and payment fees. These estimates have all been rounded up to account for any unforeseen things that may come up.

PROJECTED BUDGET
- 45% goes to printing costs (roughly $5500)
- 35% goes to shipping to me and you (roughly $4700)
- 7% goes to creating rewards (roughly $950)
- 13% - Kickstarter & payment fees, and unknowns (roughly $1560)
ESTIMATED TIMELINE
- May: Kickstater campaign
-
June: Kickstarter ends. I put all the names in the book and finish up the files for printing the book. There will be a bit of time waiting for a printed proof of the book.
- July: After everything is set with the printer, I'll be able to start sending out the backer surveys to get all the information I need from you to start preparing for when the books arrive.
- August-September: Book shipment arrives, I start finishing up all the fulfillment, drawing, signing, etc.
- October-November: Hopefully everything has gone well and everyone is happy and has their things!
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Shoutouts: Thank you to Enzo, Michael Regina, Josh Ulrich, Megan McKay, Brian Gordon, Chris Grady, Wesley Hall, Darrel Troxel and my wife and kids. Thank you for all your help and inspiration!
Special Thanks to my Patreon members: For helping me continue to make comics on a regular basis. You all rock.
Risks and challenges
I successfully ran and fulfilled a Kickstarter in 2012. I have surrounded myself with amazingly talented and successful artists that have created and fulfilled multiple Kickstarters. I also have the full support of my family.
I've done my research on the cost of shipping items, checking on pricing for books and rewards, and even gone over my figures and estimates with multiple people.
The interior of the book is completed except for the few pages reliant on information from the Kickstarter and the cover has already been designed as well.
Thank you for reading!
-Brian
