A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has backed this project so far. I've been absolutely blown away by the level of support you've shown. In just two weeks we've reached the initial goal and plans are being set in motion to record my next CD this fall!
The campaign continues ...
Even though this initial goal has been reached, you can continue to back this project and take advantage of the different levels of incentives being offered. When I launched the Kickstarter project I figured I'd be extremely lucky if I were able raise the funds needed to record my next CD. Together we were able to reach that goal. However, after independently releasing four records, I've learned that releasing an album is just the first step.
Where will the extra money go?
Once the music has been recorded and CDs are in hand, it takes time and money to get the word out. Press kits need to be assembled and mailed out (along with CDs) to radio, magazines, newspapers, blogs, etc. A CD release performance will be planned, which also requires funds and advertising. While I didn't budget for any of this initially, any funds donated above the initial goal will be put towards these projects.
Once again, thank you so much for your support. I truly appreciate it!

I recently composed an album's worth of new music that I'm really excited about recording and sharing with all of you. I've assembled a great band, found an ideal location to record; and have a network of professionals that will handle the mixing, mastering, artwork and duplication of this CD. The only thing I need now is your support to make this project a reality.
The musicians ...
I met pianist David Caldwell-Mason at a jam session about ten years ago and we've played on and off together ever since. David is about as dedicated a musician as I've ever encountered. In addition to bringing his unique voice to the music, for the past year or so he's been making the trek up to Albany all the way from Brooklyn on a fairly regular basis to play!
Bassist Mike DelPrete has been a member of my quartet for seven years. He recently returned to the group after going on brief paternity leave and I'm thrilled to have him back. Mike's bass playing lends a rock solid foundation to every song and he's one of the most consistent musicians I've ever played with.
In addition to being one of my very best friends, drummer Danny Whelchel and I have been making music together, in one form or another, for almost fifteen years. I honestly can't imagine recording an album without his inventive playing pushing us all to unexpected musical heights.
The studio ...
We'll be recording with engineer Ace Parkhurst over the course of two days at Cotton Hill Studios in Albany, NY. I've had the pleasure of working with Ace on several other projects at Cotton Hill and the facilities there are top notch, including a beautiful grand piano that is essential to the sound of this music.
Sten Isachsen from North Albany Studios will handle the mixing, while Scott Petito from NRS Recording Studio in Woodstock will master the audio for the recording. Both of these guys did a fantastic job with my last album, Riverview. Also returning from that project is Phil Pascuzzo from Pepco Studio who will be doing the artwork and packaging of the new disc.
The music that we will be documenting was inspired by various people, places and events in the past two years of my life. I've certainly found that inspiration sometimes comes from where I least expect it. As a supporter of this project you'll gain insight on the writing process and stories behind this music as well as the steps that are taken to get these songs from a sheet of paper to your ears.
As I mentioned earlier, I'm really excited about sharing this new music with all of you and I hope you will consider pre-ordering your copy of the CD through this website to help fund its creation. On the right hand column of this page you can read all about the different incentives available to you depending on the amount that you are able to contribute.
Help spread the word ...
While I hope that you'll support this project in any way you are able, I also encourage you to help me spread the word by sharing this page with others.
Thanks for listening,
