In 2012, Brianna Lea Pruett set out to make a record of songs she would never grow tired of singing. To accomplish such a feat, she dug into her songbook and pulled out some that had been written long ago but never recorded, and sifted through all her set lists to find out what she'd been playing the most during her live performances. She gathered musicians that had been recommended to her, and they proceeded to have a long, rewarding, fun and at times philosophical journey with making the record.
Gypsy Bells is the result.
Gypsy Bells was signed to release with Canyon Records, one of America's oldest independent record labels based out of Phoenix, Arizona. Brianna's official ethnicity happens to be American Indian, sometimes called Native American, and so her record could be released with Canyon.
Now Brianna is excited to announce that the record has been mastered for vinyl. This kickstarter is to take pre-orders for an incredible sounding album, and pay for initial vinyl pressing fees. It's Canyon's first vinyl in over 30 years, and first foray into the world of indie rock. Join in on an exciting history-making venture!
Risks and challenges
Everything is set into motion to complete this project successfully, from the staff available at Canyon Records to Brianna's merchandise being completed and ready to go, to the vinyl metal masters already being created for test pressings at Furnace Manufacturing.
If there are a large number of orders for "I Love Vinyl" Record Bags, those that count beyond the available stock may need to ship in November.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
