An animated short about a boy overcoming his fear of monsters by holding an imaginary feast in their honor.
It was over a year ago when I first had the idea for this project, but the story line comes from when I was just a kid. I had to put this project on the sidelines due to other projects coming up and then moving to Portland. Since then I just haven't had the time to work on it. I would really like to finish this project, not only because I think it is a really good story but I think it will challenge my abilities when it comes to aesthetics and design as well as story telling and of course certain technical aspects of animation that I haven't often gotten to work on.
As I said I have already done a little work on this project. I created pieces of the set I plan on using. I might change some things when I start working on it again, but I figured I would insert some of the work I have done throughout the rest of this description.
This project is different than most I have done in the past, in that it will be shot live action and I will animate over the top of it. I have done a little of this in previous projects, but not to this extent. I am excited at the prospect of getting to finish this project, and pledge to all of you that I am going to work my butt off to make sure I get it done. If I reach my goal I am going to allot myself two weeks at first to do nothing but work on this project. If I am not done after two weeks, I will assess my finances and then see if I can allot myself more time.
The funds I am hoping to raise will be used not only to fund the animation and photoshop work work that I will be doing, but also to buy materials to help build the sets. Animation is very time consuming work and in order to take on a project like this and finish it in a timely manner it would be an incredible amount of help if you pledged money via this kickstarter. If I am lucky enough to go over my goal, the extra money will be used to enter my short into festivals and help me attain other equipment (lights, green screen, etc) that I could use for this and future projects.
PS: Here is a video test I made of animating a face on a ball shot in live footage. As well as a weird striped glob in a small bowl. I will be doing work similar to this (only hopefully a lot more advanced) in order to make this animation.
