What is a friendship worth? Brian Feldman examines this question by offering Capital Fringegoers an opportunity to define friendship. Read more

About this project
IT COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
In the spirit of his 20:11 projects at the 2011 Orlando Fringe, conceptual artist Brian Feldman (Facebook, Twitter) will once again turn a Fringe Festival on its ear with a completely unique experience.
BFF - an official FYOV (Find Your Own Venue) show presented this July as part of the the 2012 Capital Fringe, will offer 50 people the opportunity to have a personal two hour “friend building” excursion with Brian, originating from Fort Fringe (607 New York Ave NW, Washington, DC 20001).
THIS PROJECT EXPLORES THE QUESTION: “HOW DO WE MAKE FRIENDS?”
Maybe Brian and his newfound friend will go for a walk, bike or Metro ride. Perhaps they’ll go get something to eat in nearby Chinatown. Conceivably, they could even go see another Fringe show! Anything can happen, as this is a real life experience, with only one ticket available per showtime.
A typical Fringe show is a stage production with a beginning, middle and end. BFF is none of that.
BFF will be one of the most conceptual offerings in the 7 year history of the Capital Fringe, and among the most unique experiences of the 2012 Capital Fringe; something which all participants will remember forever. It will be the first one-on-one show in Capital Fringe history, and due to that will also have the most showtimes in Capital Fringe history (50).
WHERE DOES ALL THE MONEY GO?
Excellent question! All of the money raised through Kickstarter will go directly to the production of BFF, from the Capital Fringe’s FYOV marketing/participation/entry fee to the individual costs associated with the poster (photography, design, printing and distribution), promotional efforts, transportation throughout the project duration, project activities and rewards distribution. Additionally, Kickstarter and Amazon fees add up to roughly 10% of the final amount raised.
This production is presented as a part of the 2012 Capital Fringe Festival. A program of the Washington, DC non-profit Capital Fringe.
