When is the last time you felt THIS good about your socks?
Think about the moment of your day when you can finally remove your sweaty, stinky socks. It's a signal to your body and mind that the day is done, when in reality you might have a lot more left to do. That's the issue. Most socks aren't up to the challenge of a modern, jam-packed life.
As someone who’s always on the go, I’ve made it my goal to find socks that last ALL DAY LONG.
After spending two years trying socks from dozens of manufacturers made of all sorts of different materials, I finally got a glimpse of what I set out to find. Alpaca.
Alpaca is hollow which accelerates the capillary action to manage moisture, it's less itchy because it has far less scaling, it doesn't require harsh chemicals to soften, its ecologically beneficial, it's economically beneficial, it's more durable, it offers more insulation with less bulk, its hypoallergenic, it's pretty great really.
The fiber was undoubtedly great, but the construction was lacking or the actual amount of alpaca was far too low. I purchased pairs from all over the world and kept running into the same issues.
It became clear that alpaca is the perfect sock material -- but it was equally clear that no one was making a perfect alpaca sock.
(I know we have done just that)
We created a technical, performance sock that utilizes alpaca fiber to regulate temperature, wick moisture and make you pretty darn happy every time you pull them out of the drawer AND we use cutting edge manufacturing techniques to make it form fitting, comfortable and durable.
Fo//ow Ho//ow is based on alpaca fibers unique hollow structure.
While other types of wools only have pockets of air, alpaca’s hollow fibers provides a capillary action that outperforms other materials. It is excellent at temperature regulation and wicking sweat. It is less itchy and softer too. This moisture management also means that even after DAYS of consecutive wears they won’t stink, helping you go all out, all day long.
Finally, we focus on making PREMIUM socks so we use 80% baby alpaca as our primary "ingredient". Check out leading wool sock brands and you'll be shocked to see less than 50% natural fiber.
Med: fits 7-10 women's shoe size / 8-10 men's shoe size
Lrg: fits 10.5-12 women's shoe size 10.5-13 men's shoe size
Sizing for EU customers is not 100% tested yet, but should convert as usual (our socks are very forgiving on fit thanks for the 5% spandex, they have been covering sizes on either end of the stated sizing).
Our manufacturer states that machine wash on cold + hang dry is the safest bet. But in ALL my testing the socks are washed like all my other laundry and tossed in the dryer and I've seen zero negative effects. I would suggest hand dry to be 100% safe, but I also know that's not realistic.
Fiber from Peru and United States manufacturing ensures world-class quality control and extremely consistent sizing and specifications. The end result is an engineered, performance sock that delivers more with less.
No Itch: Our fiber is 80% baby alpaca which is a MASSIVE percentage of the sock ("baby" simply refers to the age of the animal being less than two years old). Baby alpaca fiber has less scaling (less itch) and is significantly softer that alternatives.
No Stink: Alpaca fiber wicks better than merino wool and absolutely crushes oil-based synthetics in terms of keeping your feet dry. Our testers have gone more than a week wearing the same socks with no stink. They are the perfect travel sock.
No Quit: Our socks are engineered to weave the power of baby alpaca fibers with a minimum but critically important amount of modern synthetics. Our proprietary blend gives us an 80% natural fiber sock that stands up to abuse.
Alpaca fiber is massively underutilized and we're going to change that. When we started Follow Hollow, it was extremely tempting to start by designing a line of clothing and accessories with tons of sizes in a whole slew of colors in an attempt to give you everything you could possibly need. I mean, we love alpaca so much that we wish we could send you all away in an alpaca Thneed (you know, the Dr. Seuss type).
But we have faith in these socks and we believe our consumers will too, and that they’ll be patient with us as we build a business and pay for more designs, colors and sizes with profits from our company while slowly expanding our catalog.
We are a direct-to-consumer brand for now in order to get the highest quality sock with the least amount of people (and costs) standing between our socks and your feet.
If you like our mission and our swagger; help us by posting a link about our campaign in your social channels. Tag @followhollowbrand to help us find your post, we're going to give away several pairs of FREE socks to thank our fans and backers for sharing.

Risks and challenges
Producing a product from source to shipped carries risks of things going poorly. I've learned some ways to minimize these risks by testing the supply chain beforehand with prototype runs. We have done that and ordered a test run to make sure the socks are what we want and they have been tested by dozens of hand selected product testers to make sure the quality is unsurpassed.
The project is slated to deliver in January 2020.
From experience, I realize the amount of time and the unforeseen hiccups that accompany new products. To give us a reasonable amount of time to fill and ship orders, we are anticipating all orders to be shipped by January 2020. If we exceed our goals, things may get pushed back for our later backers. That being said, I am extremely confident that if you order a pair (or 8) of Fo//ow Ho//ow socks, you WILL see that order hit your doorstep in a reasonable amount of time.
