We're on an incredible journey.
Over the last 2 years, we've had the awesome privilege to tour around the world and see God's awakening movement in churches, small groups, festivals, cities, small towns, and every other possible place. The thing we've taken away from all of this the testimonies of people. A worship leader in Indonesia who spent half his year's salary on a piece of equipment to better serve his congregation; a worship leader couple in Paris who are devoting their lives to writing music for their church and their city; a woman in Africa who laid down everything.
That final story stands out in my mind: we were at a conference in Florida, and a lady from West Africa told us the story of a missionary who had lived as a schoolteacher for as long as the first woman could remember. This missionary was an older lady when the lady we were speaking to last saw her, right before the violence erupted in Liberia in the 90s. This schoolteacher was asked to leave by her friends and family, even people in the village begged her to go. But this woman would not leave, as she said, her place was with the people God had called her to.
I asked the woman we were speaking with what happened to this schoolteacher in her village, and she paused for a moment; "Well," she said, "I think she died during the famine that followed." This woman had heard the call on her and had given everything to obey--even her very life. Stories like this have inspired the songs of these 3 EPs.
Instead of releasing one full length this year, I've decided to release 3 pieces with a clear vision for each: the first, THE ONE WORTH IT ALL, is all about the same vision of this schoolteacher, that Jesus is our everything and He is worth the cost. In the fall, we are going to release the 2nd project, which for right now is called the FRENCH EP. This project will be completely in French, and it comes out of the tours I've done the past two years throughout France. We've made some incredible relationships with people while in country, and these translations have come out of beautiful times of worship together. The final EP for the year, BORN AGAIN, is all about the joy being made new and alive when come to know Jesus for the first time.
With sound engineering, production, and distribution costs, these 3 EPs will definitely be a challenge to complete, but I think together we can make this happen. We've made it a priority to not ask for support or donations outside of a select few over the past two years, chiefly because we believe in this project. I've personally wanted to make sure that when we ask for money, you know we mean it, and your partnership will go towards something beautiful and good. I believe these projects will change lives, so much so that we are already starting production. My offer to you is to join us in seeing these projects become a reality. We'd love you join us.
Risks and challenges
One of the biggest obstacles for most artists is volume of content. For me and my team, we've written over 60 songs in the past year and a half, and from these, we feel confident releasing these 3 EPs with the very best material. For me, it's not a matter of if these songs will be released this year; but you can definitely help us tremendously by supporting the projects and being involved. We wanted to keep the Kickstarter amount low so as to easily meet our goal, but I wouldn't be surprised if we exceed it by a lot. If we do, the money is going straight to these projects, letting us continue to do what we do around the world.
I would love you to be a part of this exciting journey. The fact that we are already starting production tells me that this is going to happen either way, but I would love you to consider being involved. Our community has been so supportive over the past few years, now I encourage you to give and be a part of this leg of the journey.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
