‘The toys want to tear it down, one bear fights to defend it, and for one cat playtime in the city is over.
Return to sweet Toyburg one more time, where the puzzle-piece streets thunder with voices raised against Mayor Huggington. In a police force of hired ex-villains, Ruxby Bear is one of the few real cops who pledge to protect and serve all toys.
Along with his old wooden friend Hazbrow, and wife Mytell, they must stand strong against the tyranny of powerful toys. Can they stop their fellow citizens from wrecking the districts, and the evil Copycat in his quest for chaos?
Fuzzy families, police and criminals all have their perspective on the rising chaos gripping Toyworld, and how they face the dangers will define them.
Ruxby gets real, because it’s time to clean up those blocks.’
We need the funding to pay our diverse creative team for their input, and the first printing of this third book itself for shipping to backers and sale at conventions. We will also make it available digitally.
Torsobear has come a long way from the original short in the Outré anthology, to a series positively received by readers and press. A collaborative project that emerged from a small idea, it has grown into a whole world with a rich history and social structure.
More amazing rewards will be on offer to pledges of all levels, including toys, a character in the book and story outcomes will be created by you!!
My previous books, Kuzimu and The Vale can be obtained on some reward levels (mature readers only for these titles), as can sketch cards, t-shirts and original artwork from the artists! For fans of fun and crime, this is something totally unique, bursting with energy and passion!
ART PRIZES FOR BACKERS!
Saoirse Towler, Yen Quach & GIles Crawford's original pages are up for grabs at milestones too, and all backers on a given day are automatically entered into a sketch contest.

Reviews for Torsobear -
‘It reads like Raymond Chandler meets Teddy Ruxpin with a generous dose of Robert Crumb and we’d love to see a full series.’ – Pipedream Comics
‘The art style and color choices made it feel like a more disturbing and adult Hanna Barbera piece, and the blend of issues such as racism, crises of faith, and horrific crimes with a world of toys resonated.’ – Fanboy Comics
‘There are few comics out there as innocently decadent as this one. In fact, I can’t think of the last time I read a story akin to Torsobear. It is more than just a well-executed piece of parody pulp – it’s a marvellously constructed yet endearingly simple tale of subversion, and demonstrates just how strong a story can be when combining the innocent with the deadly.’ - A Place To Hang Your Cape
With your help and support, perhaps we can add even more to the Torsobear experience. Here are some possibilities should we exceed the original goal:
*Terms & conditions - Your referring friends must message me after backing us, or attach text to their pledge with your name for the offer to count. After that I will contact you to confirm your free book, and you can reduce the amount of your pledge to £0.00, or I can refund the amount of your pledge to you after funding. Only one free print book available to you with this offer. A person cannot refer or be referred multiple times. Please allow the normal time for production and delivery of the book.
Risks and challenges
Myself and many of the team have a track record of contributing to and/or running successful Kickstarters. In fact, we've already completed and delivered two Torsobear books using this very model.
With such a diverse team and complex project we've already had to put in a lot of the work that can be done upfront. This is in order to make sure the whole thing is able to be completed for delivery up around a couple of months after funding has been received.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
