A coming of age story about two brothers trying to sustain their lifestyle and core values in Western American culture
American Cowboys is a short film written by Cash Black and Brett Edwards. It is an original story about two brothers, Ty and Levi Cooper, who make a living as professional Team Ropers, in the rodeo.
Ty is one of the best Team Ropers due to his hard work and dedication. His main priority is to provide for his wife, Sara, and 7 year old daughter, Melissa. His younger brother, Levi, is a prodigy based on sheer talent but struggles to find focus and discipline inside and outside the arena. Levi's vices often cost he and Ty more than just the winnings. This story showcases the brothers individual struggles that leave them at odds with one another but allow them to find a resolution not through team roping, but through the strong bonds of family. Blood is thicker than water.
