Combine two girls, a '76 AMC Pacer, the open road, and an impending nuclear apocalypse, then you get BEST FRIENDS FOREVER.
Just Hours Left and Today We Reached Our Goal!!!
Wow...thank you to everyone that has donated and now...we can make our film! Our cup runneth over with the amount of support we have received. The sky really is the limit!!! We've exceeded our goal and with every extra dollar, we are able to make our film that much better!
Here is a message from the director and star of this film, Brea Grant, asking you to donate::
As the final week winds down, please help us out by encouraging the filmmakers, friends, and females in your life to donate!!
BEST FRIENDS FOREVER is a dark comedy and sci-fi horror film, combining equal parts buddy film, road trip and nuclear apocalypse story, but with girls. Harriet, the perpetual but unsuccessful optimist, has finally figured out how to take her passion for comics and turn it into a responsible life. But when she and Reba, her seemingly devil-may-care best friend, hit the road to Austin, TX, an impending nuclear apocalypse endangers the best-laid plans and even the best of friendships.

WHY YOU SHOULD SUPPORT OUR PROJECT
Two girls, a '76 AMC Pacer, the open road, and an impending nuclear apocalypse. Would you want to see that on a movie screen? Brea Grant and Vera Miao wrote this screenplay together, and in November 2011, with a lot of heart, ingenuity, sweat and very little money, shot all over Texas on beautiful Super 16mm film. If you love sci-fi, classic cars, road trips, desert landscapes, snappy dialogue, independent filmmaking, women filmmakers, or us, or if this just sounds like a movie you want to see, help us get closer to the editing, color correction, sound design, special effects and other technical thingamajiggies we need to bring BEST FRIENDS FOREVER to a screen near you.
Here is a message from our producer, Stacey Storey, telling her BFF story::
WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
EDITING: As much as our editor loves our movie, we feel like we should pay him.
COLOR CORRECTION: The Super 16mm is only going to get more jaw-droppingly beautiful, yet surprisingly expensive.
SPECIAL FX: How cool is it that we get to make SFX? Think bombs, fires, and zombies (not really zombies).
SOUND DESIGN: What does an impending nuclear apocalypse sound like? We want to know as much as you do.
MUSIC: Rihanna, Foster the People, Lady GaGa....all people who will not be in this movie. But your support will get us something even better.
FILM FESTIVALS: Wouldn't you love to see this film somewhere near you? So would we!
HOW KICKSTARTER WORKS
People pledge any amount and choose a reward. At the end of our Kickstarter campaign, if the combined total of all pledges for our project meets our $75,000 goal, then the credit cards of those who pledge are charged and we receive the funds to make our film. If we don't meet our goal, then the money is not withdrawn from your account and no rewards are provided. If we exceed our $75,000 goal then the extra funds will be used to make the movie even better. Aside from a 5% Kickstarter fee and a 3-5% Amazon credit card processing fee, all funds raised will be used directly in the production of the film.
Can I increase my pledge once it’s been made? YES! Once you donate to our campaign, you may want to change your incentive reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter and sign in. If you go to our campaign page, the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive.
What happens if all the money isn’t raised in time? Unfortunately, NOTHING. If our entire $75k goal isn’t met before the deadline, no money changes hands and no movie is made. We know you won't let this happen!
Can we exceed the goal? YES! What an amazing problem to have. Kickstarter will allow as much money as is given before the deadline. Even though $75k is already a lot of money, it is still bargain-basement for what we are trying to do, and more money would mean less begging, borrowing and stealing.
How do we contact you? Glad you asked! You can contact us directly at email@example.com. We check it. We will get back to you. We promise!
Other ways to help: Spread the word! Tell everyone you know how awesome this project is. Share our website, like us on Facebook, blow up the Twittersphere with BFF, blog it, or promote it any way you can think of. Everything helps!
**Quick note from Brea - I realize that it looks as though I've never backed a KS project before. We had to create a new page for BFF as a project but if you are interested in following me, Brea, as an individual backer, my KS page is here.
