Cult Following: The One True Game is a creative storytelling game. Players use ideas from the deck to create ridiculous cults and pitch them to their friends. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, we published Cult Following in March 2017. Since then it has been an official Indie Megabooth pick for PAX West 2017 and Pax East 2018, was played on Smosh Games with over 300,000 views, sold out its first printing, and has gone into distribution for its second printing. Thanks to this incredible success we have created two brand new expansions, with hundreds of new ideas to make your cults more ridiculous than ever.
You will need the original game to enjoy these expansions. Fortunately, we have included the base game with the expansions at one of the pledge levels. Cult Following is also available online and at many local game stores. If you are new to Cult Following please have a look at our previous Kickstarter, our webpage, or one of the reviews or gaming sessions below.
- 10% of your income
- It was good
- One of you will betray me
- Symbolic cannibalism
- Two of every animal
- Cutting things in half
The Not Safe For Worship expansion features ideas for the more mature player, to enhance the dark and unseemly nature of your cults.
- How will your cult change when one of you finally gets laid?
- Explain your secret plan to seduce the leader of the cult on your right.
- Describe the creepy text message you received from the cultist on your left.
- What would you expect to find in the browser history of the cult on your right?
- Why do you suspect the cultists on your left are compensating for something?
- What’s your cult’s “missionary position"?
Not Safe For Worship includes 75 cards with 150 new ideas to bring out the wild side of your cults. Most of the cards in this expansion are questions - ideas to help recruits find the cult that’s right for them.

Risks and challenges
All projects have a certain amount of risk. We have done our best to account for any possibilities that could interfere with the successful fulfillment of this project.
This project should be ready to send to our printer shortly after the end of this campaign. We are currently testing and making the final choices on card ideas and design. Some elements of design will be finalized after the campaign, depending on stretch goals.
We use WinGo Industries as our printer for Cult Following, and will use them for these expansions as well. We have now finished our second print run with them and are very familiar with their process and timelines. We have quotes and a well-planned budget for this project.
Our distributor is Studio 2 Publishing, and we will be using them for warehousing and distribution of these expansions. We will be using a combination of WinGo, Studio 2, and Amazon for fulfillment. We have used all of these options in the past and are very familiar with them.
Our first Kickstarter in September 2016 had an estimated delivery date of February 2017. Backers received their copies at the end of February and the beginning of March, despite shipping challenges over Chinese New Year and an unforeseen delay when our prototype was accidentally mailed to New York instead of Vancouver.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
