While out enjoying an evening in the woods around the campfire with your friends, you notice a gentle breeze stirring the dead leaves that have fallen from the trees. With a building sense of dread, you have the unsettling feeling that those leaves aren’t the only dead things stirring in this forest. It’s a long way to the road and the safety of The City; your only chance at survival is to leave the camp… at a DEAD RUN!
Nightmare Forest: Dead Run is a card and dice take on side-scroller games like Rygar, Mario or Pitfall. You are camping in a forest with your friends as a critter-filled zombie infestation strikes in the darkness.
Blinded and frantic, you blaze your own trail. Will you be the lone survivor to get back to the car and make it out alive?
As the monsters grow ever-tougher, your decisions on when to push forward, when to utilize the little gear you can get your hands on, and when to use others as critter-bait will be the difference between success or being devoured in the Nightmare Forest.
At the start of a player's turn, they gather their resources (gear and dice) and charge through the forest trying to escape.
The player can use their dice to fight zombies, search for gear, or mess with the other players on their turn (each die only being able to used once per turn). They continue until they run out of dice that haven’t been used, or they decide to pass their turn.
The next player then takes their turn. The players continue taking turns until one of them escapes the forest first. The first to make it out wins and everyone else is zombie noms.

Undead Viking - Review and Game Play
We love this game so much we even had a theme song created, fully produced, mixed and mastered by a local band - The Shane Howard Band.
You can hear it stream here:
All backer levels will receive a download of the song as part of their reward.
Note: This game mat is a Kickstarter Exclusive mat and will not be available for purchase outside of the Kickstarter.
We believe so strongly in this project we funded all the art for the game, prior to kickstarting. The game art is complete and the rules done. The manual is 85% graphic design complete and will be finished by the end of the campaign. Once the project funds we will need 2 weeks to make any custom character art from the Specialist backer level and it will go immediately to manufacturing.
"Plays quick and is easy to understand...It's new" "The best part is the fluff text" - Board Game Closet
"This one is a little bit unique and I like that." - Brian
"...accessible, simple use of fun modern game mechanics." - Edo
We like to support game stores around the world by offering the special Kickstarter versions of the game to retailers during the campaign. We treat retailer backers just like other backers in that they receive their rewards before we release regular retail games into distribution.
If you're a retailer, please contact Dave at email@example.com during the campaign for pricing information. Additionally, all retailer backers will be featured in our manual and on our web site; with web link and location (store city) as a thanks for helping get this game off the ground.
Nightmare Forest was designed by Dave Killingsworth and will be published under the SolarFlare Games production company.
There is more information available about me in the Full Bio link. I need your help because the production costs needed to bring the game to life must be paid months before the game can appear in stores. I have already paid for all the art and have already successfully delivered two other games on time, as promised.
As with all Kickstarter projects, you will only be charged when we meet our funding goal. The game was fully designed and tested before launching this project. We have worked to make the production timeline as short and quick as possible, but first runs take a little longer to produce than a repeat run.
Now, we need your help to pay the final production bill and escape the woods.
Risks and challenges

Our last two projects, Thrash-Car and Dumpster Brawl! were successfully funded and delivered on time. When funding ends, production will immediately begin and we will provide timely updates through each stage of Nightmare Forest’s production, all the way until it hits your table.
We believe that honesty is paramount for our supporters. Our exacting standards and desire for quality and fun mean that you're guaranteed a game that looks just as good as it is fun to play. All of that, while offering many years of family fun!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
