This project is an attempt to create the best front end web dev framework from all the best features/tools on the interwebs.
The Solution:I decided that instead of using these features as addons, I would find the best, or in my mind "the best" implementation of the features. Then I would create a framework from the ground up based on the best implementations. So this project will be based on the best features from bootstrap, foundation, and all the addon features I found. I will also take suggestions from the higher donor levels for features needed/wanted. I feel like with the inclusion of the developer community we can create the best front end framework.
Below are some images of what I have been working on. There are other features that are not in the images. These are from the first version I was working on however I am starting from the ground up and making sure I do everything the right way. I would also like to not make it be a copy of either bootstrap or foundation so I'm making it have its own style.
Sample of project:
If you would like you can view the current working version of the project at the url below. It is what I have been working on and what is shown in the pictures above. I will be posting a separate link that is for the project. This link is just work that I have done on the project in the past to show that I have past experience and will be able to deliver.
Stretch goal #1 @ $2,000
If the first stretch goal is met then I will create a set of themes for the framework. Input would be taken for the types of themes such as a flat colored theme and such. These themes would be delivered some time after the project itself is completed.
Stretch goal #2 @ $4,000
If the second stretch goal is met then I will create a set of detailed video screen recordings showing how to use the framework. Also I will create a set of starting templates that everyone can use to start off their own projects with some awesome features.
What the money is for...
The money that is collected by this kickstarter will be used firstly to purchase hosting services and domains for the project. A portion will be used to purchase screen recording software for tutorials on the framework and also to help launch other projects in the future. Lastly a portion will go to living costs during development.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
There will always be obstacles in programming projects. Some code interferes with other code. So doing one thing interferes with another thing. I expect these kinds of problems to happen and I am not new to common problems related to front end development.
I have been working with frameworks for quite some time now and should have no problem delivering the project. :)
