We're back! Welcome to the new and improved relaunch of Code Triage, a cooperative game by Brando Gameworks. You will see that there are many changes that have occurred at all pledge levels and the game will feature NEW deluxe content not included in the previous campaign. Please read through the project page to see all the new changes! (Warning: Project video has not changed since previous campaign, but the project page below reflects new changes so please check them out!)

To help encourage and boost funding, we have decided to unlock 3 additional MAJOR stretch goals to make a total of 5 stretch goals unlocked for the campaign. James Young Memorial Hospital is on the verge of being shut down and needs your help. The emergency room is under survey by a government agency and everything needs to go right today to save the hospital.
You and your fellow staff members are the hospital's only hope of staying open to the public. The staff must work together to treat, expedite, and comfort patients before they leave against medical advice (AMA) or expire. There are only 4 of you available to work today and you may need to make some hard decisions. Your team will need to prioritize patients depending on their severity and needs. You have only until the end of your shift to prove to the agency that the hospital deserves to stay open.
Will you be able to make the hard decisions of patient care with limited staffing and save the hospital?
“A nice little co-op game, very family-weight to it in terms of ease and depth of play. I was able to play it a couple of times with my 13-year-old and 10-year-old and they were able to grasp the strategy, it wasn’t too complicated for them and it was something they really enjoyed as well. As far as weight and strategy is concerned, it’s probably no heavier than a Pandemic kind of feel, in terms of being able to pick it up and play it. You’re completing orders by putting cubes out, whereas in Pandemic you’re getting rid of diseases by removing cubes from the board. (Every player) has their own unique thing you have to do on the board and I really liked that aspect of the gameplay. As the game progresses, things get more and more out of hand with new patients coming in. There’s a lot of fun to it. I really appreciate that the designer took the time to give you options printed right in the rules to start later in the work day, so you could play a shorter game if you wanted to do that. Overall, had a great time with it. I was able to play with the kids, they were able to play it. "Neat theme...especially works well with several of the event cards (Code Blue making a patient a death risk or certain events that require characters to make a second trip to a patient). I appreciate the ability to make the game longer or shorter depending on your preference. When it hits the sweet spot for stress, it feels solid. You can get overwhelmed quickly...but if you’re right in the spot of “oh man we’re getting a LOT of patients” but not totally screwed, it can be a solid whirlwind. I like the asymmetry of treating people. Certain staff just aren’t needed for certain patients, and I think that’s solid. "Bring a clean set of scrubs into this ER, you will need it. This intense co-op game has you fighting to keep your hospital open. Gamers will need team work, adaptability, and a little luck, to handle a plethora of different patients and emergencies. Game mechanics flow smoothly and instill an urgent pace to keep the patients alive and well. Just when you think you're under control, the event cards or ambulance dice will serve you some humble pie and your backs will be in a corner. Code Triage is a light to medium weight cooperative board game for one to four players that plays in 1-2 hours. You and your teammates take on the roles of 4 different emergency room staff members of James Young Memorial Hospital, a failing medical center on the verge of being shut down by a government agency. You only have until the end of your shift to prove to them that the hospital deserves to stay open.
To accomplish this, players will need to coordinate care and prioritize which patients need to receive care first and which can wait until a later turn. Every round, patients will be added to the emergency room via ambulance or private vehicle with various conditions, needs, and risks.
Patients with more critical conditions such as a heart attack or stroke have the risk of death, while others with more minor injuries, like an elbow sprain or knee pain may leave the ER against medical advice, if they don't receive treatment quick enough.
Unexpected events such as an external disaster, code blue, and rapid response may also occur, causing more problems for the staff to deal with.
There are 3 ways to lose the game, and only one way to win.
The players will lose if...
- they are unable to place an incoming patient into one of 12 rooms,
- 3 patients expire, or
- they have not earned enough points from patient discharges to demonstrate to the agency that the hospital is worth staying open.

This project is US-Friendly, CA-Friendly, and EU-Friendly, thanks to a distribution network we set up across the world (via the Stonemaier Method). We ship games in bulk around the world so backer rewards will ship from within the US, Canada, and European Union. Brandon Young lives in Warren, MI, with his wife Nicole and dog Tinkerbell. He grew up playing classic family games such as Monopoly, Life, and Clue, until his junior year of home schooling, when a friend introduced him to Settlers of Catan and the world of tabletop gaming. When he is not designing or playing games, he works as an X-ray technologist and an Anatomy and Physiology Instructor. He believes gaming should be a perfect blend of fun, theme, and strategy, to accommodate gamers and non-gamers of all backgrounds.

Risks and challenges
There are always challenges when it comes to running a successful Kickstarter campaign, but I assure you that many of the issues that can arise in them, I am prepared for. Following the advice of Jamey Stegmaier of Stonemaier Games (via his blog and personally) has allowed me to set up worldwide shipping for $18 or less (usually much less!), covering customs charges and fees for my backers in the United States, Canada, and European Union. Shipping costs have been broken down into every country within the European Union and elsewhere so that shipping overages will never occur for backers. I am not looking to make money from shipping and ALL savings that I am able to provide, I am passing onto YOU, my backers.
Utilizing dependable, proven shipping partners in OTX, Funagain Games, Starlit Citadel, and Gamesquest, will ensure that every backer will receive their game(s) in a timely fashion and without damaged or missing components. Some of you may have doubts as this is my first Kickstarter project, but if you back this project today, rest assured that I will deliver the product to you as quickly as possible and I will work diligently to make sure that every backer's needs are met and that you will continue to support Brando Gameworks. This is the relaunch of a game I thought I was ready to bring to Kickstarter in May, but from the lack of success of that campaign, I learned so much and was able to make this project so much better than I ever imagined!
