It's a ruler and a pencil. It's a brilliant idea, and it's the brainchild of an eleven-year-old named Nathan. You can make it happen.
446 backers pledged $5,135 to help bring this project to life.

Wow! and Metric!

Posted by Brand New Box (Creator)

Wow.  We've been blown away by your support over the last few days.  Thanks so much for backing the project, and telling your friends about the Ruler Pencil. Here's what's happening now.

Backing

We reached our funding goal on Day 1, which was just jaw-dropping.  But you can still back the project - the more funding we get, the higher quality pencil we can produce.

Metric!

Many of our backers have asked for it, and with your support we're going to do it.  We'll produce Ruler Pencils with both Inches and Centimeters on them.

Pencil Quality

We've gotten some great guidance from the pencil enthusiast community (it exists!), especially from Andy Welfle at Woodclinched, and Charles Berolzheimer at CalCedar.  Big thanks especially to Andy for his expertise, and serving as our resident Pencil Expert. We'll be working to get the best quality pencil for the price.

Spread the word!

We'd all appreciate if you'd tell your friends about the project - you can:

Thanks again

Thanks again for backing the project.  We'll post more updates as we go!

Any chance they'll be out by Christmas? If not, then it'll be perfect for my brother's birthday.

Not yet; the funds were just released to us last week, so we're doing the production now. Thanks for checking!

Have you mailed them yet? I'm thinking they're gonna make excellent stocking stuffers.
