Hello! Welcome to the 2nd kickstarter campaign for the comic book series: Boylord.
If you think Hollywood science fiction paradigms are getting boring, and you like non-traditional characters, then Boylord is for you! First off, none of the parents of our teenage hero, Ettan, are dead. In fact, they are all nice and well adjusted! No evil step-moms just for silly drama here. He does, however, have two dads: a biological father in the military, and a stay-at-home bi-sexual adopted father. His mom has enough love and energy for everyone.
In this society of alien cat-people (called pranans), women run the show, and men defer to their judgement. Obviously this planet is nothing like earth. These awesome female characters need all of their wisdom and abilities to save Ettan. Our happy utopia of alien super-moms gets upended as the world mobilizes for war to bring their boy home.

Read an article about Boylord and it's creator:
Manuela has finished the art for chapter 3, and I am lettering it now. The chapter 4 script is finished, and Manuela should start that before the end of this campaign. The chapters are similar to most monthly comics, in that the first issue was extra big (44 pages), and the subsequent chapters are 22 pages long.
Please note for below that I use the first 2 issues in all the pictures, so don't be confused. If it says issues 3-4 in the reward tier, that's what you'll get.
I added a new reward that is now #6, which is $45:
Did you come late to the series? Need books 1 and 2? There are still 1st edition limited prints available! Get all 4 chapters in print (#3 is due in the fall, #4 in the winter). Plus: PDFs of 1-4 when available. And a thank you in the book 3 kickstarter page!
Please note all rewards below are now 1 number higher, so below is now reward #7.
$2000 Everyone with a print reward gets a new, extra, bookmark! I know, you're saying you only need one. Give this one away! Or, use it in a cookbook. Or a prayer book. Or stop being so efficient in your book reading and have a few books going at once! In any case, this will be a different design than the one I already have planned.
Risks and challenges
Aside from planetary events and awful illnesses, it takes Manuela and I about 4 months to finish a comic. In the past, editing help from friends adds a little more time as does getting the printing proof. Any of these stages could be interrupted, which would add weeks to maybe a few months extra time.
Manuela and I have a great collaboration going, the art is flowing :-)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
