“History doesn't repeat itself, but it does rhyme.” -Mark Twain
Step through the grandfather clock into The Speakeasy, an authentic prohibition experience. An immersive theatrical piece mashed-up with a massive party, this event is guaranteed to delight every scofflaw and teetotaler.
We've already begun transforming a 1920s building in the heart of San Francisco into our Prohibition-era world. The bar is built, the craps table delivered and our crew is busy constructing the nightclub stage. Think of Speakeasy San Francisco as a cocktail of theatre, booze, history and jazz. Mingling with the personalities, space and alcohol of the Roaring Twenties, the audience will be provoked, enlightened and entertained. Our world is inhabited by 50 characters ranging from flappers to the seedy nightclub operator to World War I vets to bar flies to crooked Federal agents. These Jazz Age denizens of the night create an alternate reality from 8:00pm to 11:30pm opening October 18th.
We are asking patrons who plan on attending this experience to commit to buying a ticket now. With every $50 pledge, we will set aside one ticket to The Speakeasy at a private cabaret table. By committing now, you are helping us raise the liquid cash we need to create this piece—an experience that will redefine the theatrical experience.

Risks and challenges
Mounting an immense experience like this poses many variables and challenges. First, with a cast and crew of 50 each night, there are a lot of positions to fill. Also, meticulously recreating a nightclub from 1923 is an intensive process. Amassing set pieces and props has already proved time consuming and costly. Everything from the glassware to the roulette wheel need to fit into this world.
We have a large team already committed to designing, constructing, writing and breathing life into this unique experience. With more support we are sure to hit our goals and get it up off its feet.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
