WHO IS BOP ALLOY?
Bop Alloy consists of Virginia based MC from Maryland, Substantial and producer/pianist Marcus D from Washington State. Baritone vocals, fluid flows, and honest lyrics over hypnotic melodies and pounding drums defines the Bop Alloy sound. Together and individually, they have collaborated with Nujabes, Royce Da 5’9”, Kool Herc, Oddisee, Emancipator, CunninLynguists, & Shing02. Bop Alloy has been featured on Vogue.com, 2DopeBoyz.com, DJBooth.net, The Washington City Paper and many other publications, on and offline. They have performed in cities across the US, Japan & Taiwan.
WHAT: ANOTHER DAY IN THE LIFE OF... LP
The 2nd full-length album from us and quite frankly, our best work to date. We’ve been gathering production & concepts for the album since 2010.
ADITLO features concept tracks and stories about everyday people. It chronicles the struggles and shortcomings, as well as the triumphs and accomplishments we experience on a daily basis. Features artists include: Carolyn Malachi, Cise Starr of CYNE, DJ Jav, Justis, Ongisa of Conjure Woman, Pismo, & Steph The Sapphic Songstress.
WHY: INDEPENDENT IS THE LIFE FOR US
We’ve decided to do this without a record label and/or publicist, which gives us free reign to make the kind of music we want for the people that love it. It also gives us the opportunity to have the project promoted by people whose only agenda is to support good music.
Freedom is something we cherish, but it comes with it’s challenges; like proper funding to produce, manufacture, and distribute the finish project. So once again, we ask the most awesome fans, supporters, friends & family for your support to make our latest effort a reality. We’ve already financed certain aspects of the project such as collaborations, mixing and the artwork (which will be an original linocut print made by Substantial.)
Even so, we could use additional help to tie up several loose ends. Your contributions will be used for the following:
- Mastering of the album
- Manufacturing of CDs
- A Vinyl Version of the Album and Singles if we surpass our goal.
- T-shirts
- Shipping costs
- Music Videos
- Behind the Scenes Videos
- Posters
We're happy to be back with new music for all of you, and we hope to release it in the way it deserves to be released and that it reaches the ears it was meant to reach.
