We meet Zac on Halloween as he and his sister are preparing to go trick or treating. He is conflicted because the excitement of the day has gone for him. He is growing up and he is saddened that the magic of childhood is leaving him. This feeling of loss continues to grow as circumstances through out the story force him to consider life and death as part of reality.
A mysterious neighbor gifts him an acoustic guitar. He finds out in time that this guitar has the power to open a portal and transport people's essence to another dimension. It is a dimension where pain, anger, and sickness can be drawn out them, leaving them cured.
Despite ominous warnings to the contrary, Zac uses the guitar to heal people in the local hospitals and has ambitions to cure someone very important to him.
Our primary characters, the Highgate Paranormal Society become involved and attempt to assess any dangers that may be associated with the instrument but a misstep on their part causes an escalation that places young Zac in danger.
The group must find a way to correct this grave error and save him.
