About this project
A few years ago, Willie Nelson passed on this piece of inspiration to me. When asked what it takes to be a living legend, he responded with a two-part answer. “Number one….keep on doing what you’re doing. And number two…don’t DIE.”
I was taught to blaze my own trail, to be my own artist, and for the last decade, I have been blessed to be able to make a living doing just that. I’ve recorded four full-length albums of original material, logged a million miles playing gigs, made thousands of friends and fans, and this year, I even got to see my songwriting dream come true when my musical hero, Bonnie Raitt, recorded one of MY songs for her newest album. Being an independent artist ain’t the easiest road to take, but it’s the one I’ve chosen… and I’m damn proud of it.
This December, I went into the studio and recorded two days worth of the best material I have ever written for my fifth project, a story album called “Free.” (Unfortunately, the title is not indicative of the cost.) I am so passionate about this record that I am appealing to my fans to help me raise the money to finish it and promote “Free” on a nationwide scale! I figured, who better to be my record label than the FANS who get my music and have been buying my albums for the last decade?? Whatever you feel led to give is EXTREMELY appreciated, even if you only buy an early download of the new record...EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS!! I hope that by partnering together on this Kickstarter campaign, we can spread the word about my music and next thing ya know, we’ll have ourselves one of those “viral" things everybody is always talking about!
It is my belief that by staying my course and being true to the gift that God gave me, just like Willie said, my music will continue to find its way into the hearts and ears of more and more people like YOU who are seeking a deeper connection through their musical experience. I want to THANK YOU, sincerely and from the bottom of my heart, for making this dream come true. Here’s to my first hit record!
