We wrote a song, one of our best yet. It's worthy of some "official release" shine. So we'll record it and shoot a video for it.
"Mister Right" is a new song we've written and we think it's one of our best ones yet. We want to make it an "official release", which means working with a pro-level producer to record it and an experienced filmmaker for the video, both of whom we've already lined up. Olaf Thorvaldsson will work his magic on the sound board and Ernesto Gallan will direct the video. They're both good dudes and totally aces at what they do. They're stoked on the song and set about outlining ideas for the production style and video concept. Psyched to be working with these guys? Yeah, that's us.
"Mister Right" is a love song set in Boston and, as such, part of our reasoning for releasing this song is pay tribute to our city and our friends and fans who've supported us since we started this band. A lot of people have come to the shows, played our songs at parties and generally made what we do a heck of a lot more fun. We're inviting our friends and fans to be in the video (that's even one of the rewards for donating) and then we're all gonna have a big party for the official release.
Anything that happens with the single and video beyond being a reason to get creative and then party down is icing on the cake. Yes, of course we're going to send it to the Phoenixes and Digs of the world, maybe even Pitchfork or like, whatever. That's just what you do when you have an "official single release".
So *fingers crossed* that we raise the money so we can hand it right over to the professionals helping us pull this thing off. Let's make it happen so we can start sending out fancy construction paper invitations to the release party!
