Boingkid™ is a newcomer into the magical & mysterious Realm of Toys. He's an innocent little toy with no instruction manual who has no idea of the hidden purpose in his creation and design.
Boing in to reveal the mystery behind Boingkid's identity in this all new 2D action puzzle platformer adventure.
Hello and Welcome to Boingkid™ Campaign,
Thanks in advance for taking the time to check out Boingkid™, a new fantasy platformer game that we are working on as a part-time project since January 2015. Boingkid™ is planned for future release on Desktop computers (Windows, Mac, Linux), handheld devices (iOS, Android, Windows Phone) and video game consoles.

When Boingkid™ wakes up for the first time on the roaring shores of Realm of Toys, he finds himself with pieces that are missing or lost and no instruction manual.
The game actually starts later, when Boingkid™ finally finds the Old Fortress of 1001 Manuals.
In the Fortress, only the Big Old Manual knows how every toy should function and what their purpose is in the Realm of Toys and the worlds beyond.
After Boingkid™ found the Big old Manual,
He discovered that even the Big Old Manual doesn’t know the instruction and functionality of him. In fact, it appears that some pages of the Big Old Manual have been removed. Now, only Boingkid™ himself can solve his mystery by entering the Chambers of Destiny.
In the Chambers, only a toy with a pure heart and a bright purpose can meet the light; otherwise, the shadows will take him/her away forever.
Hope shines when Boingkid™ meets the Light Beats.
Light Beats are small particles of Light that slowly reveal the Boingkid™s abilities and functionalities and guide him to the lost answers. But where there is light there will be shadows too. The forces of darkness will arrive sooner or later but Boingkid™ cannot leave the Chambers before finding his answers, even if the whole place starts to sink into darkness.
The sooner Boingkid™ finds his abilities, the sooner he can regain his strength to fight against the forces of darkness and buy some time until the true identity of him lights up.
While on his adventures, Boingkid™ will have to watch out for the mighty Defenders of the Realm. These giant toys search everywhere looking for toys with no instructions or purpose to eliminate them in the Chaotic Light. To avoid capture, Boingkid™ will have to bide his time in the Chambers and complete his instructions on the New Manual that Light Beats are revealing for him step by step.
Boingkid™ should be patient and use all his strength and new skills - super jumping, climbing, puzzle solving, searching and learning – to travel the path that fate has given him, all the while dodging traps and meeting other toys traveling through the Chambers of Destiny.
Boingkid™ is an innocent little toy, with an innovative design based on simple character traits from the 1930s. He has a spring for legs and a tiny suction cup for feet, and he can perform super jumps in any direction as well as stick to flat surfaces (although until he is fixed not all of his abilities will be available).
Like so many other toys, Boingkid™ has lost some pieces over time, so they will need to be found. However as he finds them, each one will open up a new facet of his personality as well as show him more of his role in the world, until he finds the true purpose in his creation. Finding all the lost pieces seems like an impossible task, but Boingkid™ counts on the help from the Chambers of Destiny. These chambers connect various worlds together so he can use them to travel anywhere and everywhere to find what he is looking for.
As you may noticed the design of the hero rooted in our childhood little toys and his main attack got inspiration from boxing which also affected the design of the hero and some of his enemies.
The game begins when Boingkid™ falls into the Chambers of Destiny, he lands on a block that enters into the first chamber.
Chambers reflect a world that wants to help and trap Boingkid™ at the same time. As a result, he will face many tricky situations. However, thanks to the Light Beats, all will get easier as he follows them along and recovers his abilities.
Boingkid™ must collect Light Beats from each Chamber he visits. They fill the void within a toy and so fix them, which helps them recall their lost abilities over time. Light Beats are hiding even in unemotional toys like punch balls. These toys just need a bump or two and Light Beats will be free to find.
With Light Beats within, Boingkid™ will never be alone, they will always be there to give information and show the way when needed.
Boingkid™ is at the beginning of his journey and there is still a lot of potential to enrich and improve the look and atmosphere of the game.
While developing the visuals of the game, we check to make sure that the real-time hand-drawn look and quality remain as untouched as possible for most gaming platforms. The mock-up below represents some of the plans for the visuals.
There are also other toys that live in the chambers that Boingkid™ travels through and he can meet them and help them with side quests to the main adventure.
Why Kickstarter ?
As a small team we hold this strategy from the beginning to make and publish the game gradually through episodes. But as you know, we are working on the game in our spare-times and focusing most of our time and energy on our art and design services for our customers fades away the attention and the quality time Boingkid™ really needs and deserves to have. So we decided to take the next step with Kickstarter and this is why we are here.
With kickstarter and your help, we can dedicate our time and effort fully to Boingkid™.
If we reach our stretch goals by your help, not only can we complete the first episode but also relocate team members to get a better work-space and hire experts to help us breakdown the development process and make and merge all the next episodes together to ship a complete chapter(including all of the 3 episodes).
In regard to our Road Map goals, we have targeted gamers of all ages and their engagement, so smooth gameplay and smooth difficulty curve are the first milestones to achieve. We want to keep to the rule of “easy to learn but hard to master”.
First episode will focus on storytelling(learning about the characters and the Realm), with the player exploring through more than 50 levels, while mastering the platforming skills and solving basic puzzles.
With the stretch goals funded, that would then be the time for the next episodes to happen: Shadows and forces of darkness arrive in the Chambers and the toys with empty spaces in them will be hunted and filled by shadows, turning them into fully dark toys. This shows us a dangerous and dark side of worlds of toys in contrast to its colorful and shining initial appearance.
These foes will come in many forms and with various behaviors. For example, some may trap Boingkid™, some may pull Light Beats from him, some may simply attack him, and some will even prevent him to using his main abilities.
These ensure that the game presents a complete set of different challenges for players.
When Shadows arrive in the Chambers, Boingkid™ will receive throwing abilities as well as punching combos from Light Beats to defeat the dark toys. Punching combos will allow you to defeat hordes of dark punch-balls attacking you from every corner.
There will also be collectible toys to use as weapons such as YoYos (for melee-attack), Spinning Tops and Marbles (for range-attacks) just to name a few.
His abilities will continue to grow with an improved suction cup. Not only will Boingkid™ stick to ceilings but he’ll also pull and pick up objects with this suction cup!
But beware of greasy ground and slippery objects as you can't stick to them or hold them!

Here is the plan to help us complete the story with more and better content:
- Boingkid™ (Episode 1) planned to be released on Holidays 2019.
- Upon funding the next episodes: if episode 3 not funded, episode 1 & 2 (merged) release date would be Summer 2019. Otherwise, release date of all 3 episodes(merged) would be Summer 2020, God willing.

Niv Studio celebrates 20 years of experience in fields of commercial illustration, children's books, comics, 2D animation (short films, TV shows and advertisements), computer game design & development, as well as the development of and collaboration with other creative projects from around the world.

We are also excited to welcome Davide Pensato from Dpstudios (former Ubisoft professional audio designer for a decade) along with his studio's Lead composer Luigi Di Guida, as Niv partners for bringing the fantasy world of Boingkid™ and its atmosphere to life with their magic. Davide recently worked on Joe Dever’s Lone Wolf, and Luigi, on Theseus. Niv small team includes Farhoud as the creative behind the title and Matteo our campaign holder and accountant both with experience in software development and magical hand crafts.

Risks and challenges
Niv is running this campaign not just to get help polishing up this game, but to really kick-start it’s development from part-time side project to full-time main project. The funds from this campaign will go towards resolving issues that come up, expanding the team working on the game, and to enriching the mysterious world of Boingkid™ in all areas.
Niv is confident of delivering a title into the hands of gamers that will fulfil all their hopes and desires for the platformer genre, and feedback from the Alpha versions that our testers have played has so far indicated that we are on-track to meet this goal.
