Bodypainting Day is a non-commercial public art event produced by Andy Golub. A group of artists travel to a host city to paint on a large group of nude models for full public view.

The purpose of these events is to bring people closer, connect through art, and accept each other in all of our differences.

Having held events in New York City and Amsterdam, Bodypainting Day is looking to expand to San Francisco and Brussels. We have already received the permits. We just need your help to make it happen.

Bodypainting Day forms a relationship with each city, sometimes challenging and sometimes celebrating together the importance of free artistic expression and the acceptance of the human form.

San Francisco and Brussels both have a great history that make it especially exciting to bring our event there.

Last year Pierre was a model at Amsterdam Bodypainting Day. He asked if we could hold an event in his home city of Brussels. I said if he can get the permit, then I would organize the event. After Brussels suffered a terrorist attack, I never expected him to get the permit. But he worked tirelessly for months and made it happen. To quote my friend Pierre, "It is more important to do this now than ever before.”

The public art in San Francisco is about as cutting edge as you will find anywhere. It has a storied history of celebrating civil liberties. And although recent legislation has made public nudity illegal, it is still permitted for events. It is important that events such as Bodypainting Day take place in San Francisco to reaffirm that all bodies are beautiful and should not be a source of shame.

Please support us to help bring Bodypainting Day to these 2 great cities, Brussels on August 27th and San Francisco on October 23rd.

Help us to reach our goal of $7000, which will fund travel, supplies, signage, press, rentals, as well as bringing a filmmaker to document the event in Brussels.
