Imagine a world where women's bodies were accurately reflected in the world around them
Imagine young children not wishing that their bodies were smaller, and being happy in the skin that they are in.

Introducing the prototype models of Abby Apple and Penelope Pear!
You can’t have a fruit salad with only one fruit, nor can we have a society that only represents one main body type, especially when it comes to our children.
Any mum who has doll-loving children knows just how exclusive the plastic doll party really is. If you’re not super skinny with lean legs and perky boobs, you’re pretty much uninvited to the party.
I want to change all of that, with your help!
These dolls are unlike any other doll because they have been designed to help educate young children on the varying shapes of women in a world that offers so little size diversity.
**These pictures are of our prototypes**
The Doll’s faces will be attractive, but we’ve opted for a more natural beauty and less heavy makeup than regular dolls.

These dolls are unlike any other doll becausethey have been created based around the body shapes of fruit.
Ultimately I would love to have a full range of Dolls represented by varying shapes and sizes of different fruit.
These dolls are unlike any other doll.
- They have been created to have a softer touch than regular dolls, as I wanted to replicate a more human feel, this has been achieved using a soft vinyl.
Not only that, but.....
- the dolls all have a story.
(A printable bio will be available on my website).
- They are all professional and ambitious women who exercise because they can, choosing activities that they love.
- Abby Apple for example is a teacher by day, who loves Zumba dancing and plays soccer on the weekends.
These dolls are unlike any other doll.
They have been developed in the hopes of encouraging children to recognise that we don’t all have to look the same and that you can be healthy and fabulous in more than one size.

Let's bring size diversity into children's play.

These dolls are unlike any other doll.
- I want to break down the stereotype that there is only one way to look when you lead a healthy life.
- Each doll comes with 3 outfits that children will love taking on and off, including an outfit that represents the healthy, recreational activity enjoyed by that doll.
These dolls are unlike any other doll.
- My aim is to provide parents with an opportunity for discussion, and I want children to see that beauty is not and never will be one size fits all.
Our story featured in The Herald Sun on Wednesday 20th of June,2018:
Starting the design process

After travelling to China with my designs and a heartful of dreams, I now have two prototypes of the dolls I have worked so passionately to bring to life.
My wish is to raise enough money to also bring to life two other dolls Brittany Banana and Georgia Grape (as in a bunch), which will become available as future rewards, however that wish coming true is really in your hands.
-
The dolls will be Caucasian in colour (with plans down the track to offer skin colour variations).
- Ultimately, I would love for these dolls to also come in a diverse range of ethnicities as a true reflection of the diversity in our world.
With so many children wishing their bodies were smaller, wouldn’t it be incredible to hear children proudly proclaiming in playgrounds around the world that they have a body like Abby Apple, who lives her life with laughter and love!
It’s time we learnt to be proud of our shapes. Viva la ’revolution! Let’s be part of the change!
You could be a huge part in making that dream a reality!
All we need now is your support.

"It's FINALLY here! The wonderful Amanda Stokes has brought her latest, body positive project to the world with BODY POSITIVE DOLLS! BodyMatters Australasia is proud to support toys that represent real bodies of all shapes, sizes and colours! For kids, positive body image starts at home and what better way of embracing this idea than with body inclusive dolls that represent real people!"
