      Happy New Year!

    2. Backer on

Oh and Happy New Year Bob and all the backers! :)

    3. Backer on

I am wondering why you backed this game to beging with Dylan and how much you actually pledged. I personally pledged $500 and you don't see me complaining. Seems like all you've been doing since this Kickstarter finished is endless complaining. Most of us are here to support Bob because we think he can make great games if he has the opportunity. Seems like things aren't going as expected for him and so he needs to find a job. I wouldn't blame him though. $10k is not enough to fully support a developer for a couple of years. And you probably haven't been on Kickstarter for long have you Dylan? Many Kickstarter projects weren't finished and backers didn't get anything back or they got really bad and unfinished projects. At least you can respect that he didn't feel right to give us a broken game and so decided to give back the money instead. If you're reading this Bob, I personally don't want my money back. Still hoping to see your game released some day.

    4. Dylan Kirkpatrick on

You wouldnt need a job if you were able to refund $10000, simple as that.

    5. Dylan Kirkpatrick on

(Hey all, check the new site update!)
Hahahahah. Hahaha. Hah. Hahahahahah. I figured based on your gigantic rambling story that you actually lost the game a long time ago. You're not posting anything because there isn't anything. Just admit it already. There hasn't probably been a playable version of this game in years (if ever).

I hope you never find a job, but I'm sure you'll convince someone to hire you, you bloody scammer.

Bob, if you actually release it as open source, just keep the money. I'll take it as is. :)

My point is that I'm actually interested in your success and all the little trials along the way. I would like to see this game finished and where you take things from there. So Bob, please keep us in the loop when you can. It would be appreciated. Thanks.

    8. Giroro on

      So... It's December 2014, and whatnot ...
How close are/aren't you to pushing out some version of the game, bob? Waiting isn't a problem for me, beut seeing some progress would be nice.

      JoePug on

I think enough time has passed and yet there haven't been any updates. I feel some sort of update would be reasonable at this point. Bob? ETA?

    10. Missing avatar

      JoePug on

I'll take that as a positive sign. :)

      Working on stuff

    12. Dylan Kirkpatrick on

Is that a new profile picutre?

    13. DeafTard on

Relax, you may have seen it but I don't see any updates where he announced that this project was successfully funded, there is only 1 update that he posted which is about the reddit AMA. It doesn't matter anymore since he just recently posted 2 messages on the comments board, so that's good enough for me.

    14. Ian on

bob, it's just good to hear from you. Don't worry about the business cards. We know you'll do right.

    15. Dylan Kirkpatrick on

A wild bob appears! Glad to hear some activity -- and also to hear you're thinking of spending the money on a place to stay (and work) instead of a "hack van". Seems legit to me. :)

    16. Gran PC on

Well, you already showed up here and let us know -- so I personally am happy enough -- don't fret :)

    17. bobsgame 2-time creator on

Thank you for being understanding, Backer. GranPC is correct, I missed that shipping date. I'm very sorry for the delay, I'll do my best to make up for it.

    18. Gran PC on

There was no ETA? Wait, so what does the "Estimated delivery: Jul 2014" mean right under "Original business card blah blah"?

    19. Backer on

You guys should relax a bit. lol He will give us updates when he has something worth letting us know about. Obviously, he didn't feel like "spending time with family" would be a good update but some of you guys being impatient made him come here and post that. There was no ETA on the cards in the pledge rewards description so people who pledged to get those need to wait until they're ready to be shipped. This game is obviously going to take time and there is only one person working on it, so give it time guys.

Great news - i am so framing my card

    21. Gran PC on

Hey, thanks for the info -- hope you have a good time. Just please keep us updated; it just looks really fishy when there is no activity anywhere.

    23. bobsgame 2-time creator on

Hi, I realized during my meditation that the best course of action was to spend some time with my parents and then get an apartment for a year, so that's what I've been doing. As soon as I'm settled in I will put up a registration form for backers to provide an address for the business cards and then ship them out. Thank you and sorry for the delay.

If he chooses to take the money and run, he's probably finished as a game developer and should probably get his job back in Walmart. So I hope he is working on it. As this would not look good to any prespective employer in this field.

    25. Gran PC on

Disappointed. July 30 and nobody has heard anything regarding the cards. I understand physical rewards are a pain but if you're going to offer them you should stand behind them. I emailed him about it a few days ago (since some people asked me) and I haven't heard back either. I am pretty annoyed.

    26. Backer on

@Jerry I wasn't gonna say anything but I am the $500+ pledger and I've never posted on /v/. Just thought I'd mention that if someone is claiming to be me. I'm sure everyone who pledged more than the $20 asking price for the game did so to give Bob a chance to achieve his dream. We are full aware that successful crowd funding never guarantees a finished game (look at what happened to the Yogcast Kickstarter for example). However, I'm hoping I'd get to play the finished "bob's game" as Bob envisioned it one day. "bob's game" cannot be stopped! ;)

    27. Gran PC on

Haha, I'm not in contact with him right now. Just trusting/hoping that something will happen and that we'll receive an update soon.

    28. Missing avatar

      Jerry on

@JoePug Yeah I also don't regret giving or "worry" in any way about my just $22 to Robert 'Bob' for a possibility he will actually lets say 'in not so distant future' ;P create such a wonderful and original game with such interesting and undergroundly historic story, even if there's the chance we won't ever see the finished game or at worst the source codes for the latest unfinished version.. :) but I would guess Mr. 'Gran PC' and the other high pledgers along with the 500+ pledger (who stopped by at /v/ one day if I'm not wrong:) aren't so phlegmatic about the fate of this game :)
I feel like generous Mr. 'Gran PC' who seems to be in contact with Robert would brace him up in tough times when needed if that would somehow help or at least he will be a little remembrance for Robert :)
Anyway I think we all wish Robert the best in finishing one of his dreams :)
      Good luck 'Bob'! :)

    29. Gran PC on

Interesting. Could he be working on "bob's game" for normal Android devices?

    30. Dylan Kirkpatrick on

Saying "See you in 10 days!" is indicative that he would be posting something... after 10 days, not a month. I want to be optimistic too, Backer (I've been following bob for what, 5 years now?) but times like these are when an update would be nice.

For instance, I wonder if he'll ever be able to send out those business cards? I added an extra $2 to my pledge just to get one of those cards.

And yeah, I feel like bob is a compassionate person and won't let our (Gran PC's) money go to complete waste. It would eat him up inside, I'm sure.

    31. Backer on

Just a recommendation to fellow backers not to expect weekly or even monthly updates. Bob always gives updates once every few months and because he doesn't use twitter or Facebook much, I don't expect that will change. So probably check for updates here and on his website once every couple of weeks, and keep believing in Bob. :)

      JoePug on

I think he'll post an update soon. In any case 223 of us gave him a shot at completing his game. To see his dream come to pass. What he does with it is up to him at this point. I'll not worry about the $20 either way. (but I would like to see the game completed and in my hands) :)

      Jerry on

...if he's gonna work on it :D I guess most of us, who have read his whole, know there's a real chance this kickstarter won't get finished in time (if ever :p)
There's even a possibility Robert became either enlightened or crazy on his meditation retreat and forgot about this project :d, or he hasn't found what he was looking for yet and will stay there longer, I wonder when we will hear from him again :)

    36. Backer on

One of the first updates might be about where he's going to work on the game whether it's the van he said he's gonna buy or somewhere else.

    37. Dylan Kirkpatrick on

      "See you in 10 days!"

Very exciting! I feel as though bob is the kind of person who will keep us posted... considering he did a live webcam stream.

I guess we will see though! The mention of many updates does sound promising.

    38. Backer on

@DeafTard: He did update us and thanked everybody. You need to pay more attention, dude.

@Gran PC: That surprise pledge Bob is taking about; must have come from a great man. ;) It kept the Bob's Game dream going and hopefully it will become a reality someday.

To other backers, it should be clear that Bob has a big vision for this game and if he's going to get close to achieving it, he's going to need plenty of time so let's give him that like we gave him our support. We're talking months of solo game development here. It's not a cakewalk.

    39. Gran PC on

He updated his website 1 hour ago:

      > The Kickstarter worked, thanks to a surprise donation.
      > I have many updates to post, but right now I am on my way to the meditation retreat. Upon further research it sounds very intense and I'm not sure I will last the whole time, but I'll try my best. Maybe I will become enlightened! Maybe I will become brainwashed! Maybe it's the same thing! See you in 10 days!

I also emailed him and he confirmed Kickstarter had sent the funds :)

Bob wrote when the project got funded

Thank you to everyone who pledged, you are all fantastic and I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity to continue working on this game. For those who are wondering, it made it on the last day thanks to a very generous backer who has been following the project from the beginning.

    41. DeafTard on

I agree, I have never seen a kickstarter project that didn't send out an update or confirmation that the game has been funded or thanking the backers as well. So yeah, this is pretty much the 1st project without an update after the project ends on kickstarter.

Hopefully it means Bob is getting things situated and getting to work on the game. He will chime in eventually.

    43. Chaonic on

To be honest, a few days ago, I was certain, this project would be dumped, but I am happily surprised, it ended well now!
      Can't wait for the release.
And please, pleaaase bring it to Steam =)
      This will:
      1. Give it some security with copying the game
      2. You could add Trading cards, so you get some money from people, who already bought the game.
      3. People will buy the game BECAUSE of the trading cards
      4. More people will buy it after discovering, how great it is.

If you put it on Greenlight with the Demoversion, you will certainly reach the goal fast :3

    44. DeafTard on

Looking forward to actually playing bobs game for the first time ever!

    45. Robert B. Healy III on

Congratulations on meeting the goal, you guys! Been following this game from the beginning. Proud to be a part of the legend with you. :D

    46. Stan64 on

Aww yeah! I played both demos back in the day but just recently completed the second demo after the kickstarter went up. Now I'm looking forward to the real deal!
