meet the bnd / one
At bnd, we make stands for great music. That means making the best products that not only support the greatest instruments – but also the musicians that use them. The bnd / one is our initial product that does just that. It is the world's first (really, it's already patented) fully bendable and flexible guitar stand on the market that is made by musicians, for musicians. The bnd / one is the most portable, positionable, and versatile guitar stand you will ever own.
bend it to fit your guitar
bend it to fit just about anywhere:
We made bnd / one flexible to make it portable. The industrial coil hidden within the stand is strong enough to hold up any guitar, but its true strength is the ability to easily bend to fit within most guitar cases on the market (with the guitar inside). If it doesn't fit inside your unique case it can bend it into the pocket of your guitar bag or your backpack. You can coil it into into the back of an amplifier, wrap it up with your cord bag...the list goes on.
your guitar will be safe and stable.
The bnd is like a rock. Seriously. By putting your guitar's center of gravity much lower than traditional stands, it uses the weight of the guitar to its advantage. By keeping things low, it is naturally harder to push over. The bnd stand also maintains four points of contact with the ground that keep it, and your guitar, firmly rooted.
why make a guitar stand bend?
Let us answer that question with another question: when was the last time you could fit your guitar stand in a case with your guitar? When we started to design the bnd / one, our goal was to create a stand that fit easily into the lifestyle of the mobile musician. We know that endless tours, plane rides, or even just weekly band practices involve a hobnob of stands, guitars, cases of beers, and who knows what else – making it quite a drag just to go from A to B. So we designed a stand that's as amazingly versatile as your music, and can bend to fit just about anywhere you want it to go. All you need to do is put it right in the case with your guitar. So you'll never be without a stand again, and you'll definitely have a free hand for that drink.
but what's wrong with the stand i've got?
You can't always fit them into your guitar case, or backpack, or the back of your amp. In fact, they aren't as portable as they need to be. Which sometimes means that you just don't bring them along at all.
some of the rewards
Boy do we have some deals for you! Help fund our project and you will receive some pretty cool stuff:
Setting-up the bnd / one couldn't be easier. Click together the joints, bend that bad-boy into shape, and you're ready to rock faster than you can power up that amp. When your done, simply pull-apart the joints and bend it to fit just about anywhere.
With 100% stainless steel fittings and a unique bendable design—this guitar stand has got some serious flair. But not the full-sequins-with-matching-shoes kinda flair—more like the subtle flair that makes a statement on stage without stealing the show (unless of course you're really into sequins).
Because every great idea needs some help to grow, we spent the last six months showing our designs and prototypes to musicians all over Portland and abroad. We took every note, and heeded every suggestion to arrive at the stand you see here today.
a bit about us
Patrick Triato // holds over 50 patents and counting, and is passionate about solving everyday issues and bringing new ideas life. The original idea of bnd came as a result of Patrick being a life-long musician (bears) and engineer. One day years ago when Patrick was still playing out in bands the idea of a truly portable guitar stand was born. When Patrick is not working, he is working on something else.
Drew Downie // has been a music lover since he was a young lad. Being a product design graduate, he's always tinkered with new products. He began his entrepreneurial ventures two years ago when he helped launch an audio company into the stores of Apple.
our development process
The idea first started back in 2011, when Patrick was working on designing a product with flexible materials. Being a former touring musician, he was fed up trying to pack his cheap guitar stand away for travel and sometimes arriving to shows only to find there wasn't a stand to use at all. So together we spent the last two years developing prototypes from some of the coolest materials on the planet and speaking with talented musicians and designers. We've sketched, prototyped, and revised the design to what you see today.
And with your help there will be even more improvement before the final release!
Every great band needs its groupies and every great Kickstarter project needs supporters like you. We've self-funded our project till now and need the Kickstarter community to turn our dream into reality.
Specifically, here's where your hard-earned cash will go: steel tooling costs / inventory purchase / certification / logistics / making a stand for great music everywhere.
One of the most important things we have learned from our past campaigns is how including the community’s input early in the design process will allow us to create the best products... for YOU. Kickstarter gives us a chance to bring to reality something that, frankly, we just don’t have the resources to expand into at this time. That’s why we need your help. We’re incredibly excited about the potential, but it can’t happen without your support. Please support this idea by contributing to our campaign and help make it a reality!

our ideal future of supporting great music starts doesn't end with the bnd / one stand. As product designers, we're always tinkering with new ideas…and believe us when we tell you that we've already got a few more products up our sleeve that will continue to help support musicians both young and old. Imagine all the possibilities!
Risks and challenges
Risks? Of course there are risks. Here are a few of them and how we plan to make them as small as possible:
1. Manufacturing Risks: Between the two of us, we have over 15+ years of experience in product development and design. We have brought products to market for some of the world's largest companies, including Nike, Wacom, Intel, and Logitech. While that doesn't ensure everything will go 100% smoothly, let's just say this isn't our first rodeo.
2. Kickstarter Risks: Getting funded on Kickstarter is hard work and requires a lot of effort in order to delivery a quality product. We have had experience launching a Kickstarter product before, raising over $75K and eventually moving from sketch to the shelves of Apple. While Kickstarter has come a long way since then, we have both learned from that experience and will are ready to do all that we can to bring the product into your hands on time and with the fullest transparency.
3. Start-Up Risks: We understand that Kickstarter is only one step in a long road to become a successful company. Besides having started (and still run) several companies of our own, we've enlisted the help of a board of advisors who are collectively much wiser and smarter than we are. That way we can make sure that whatever success we find with Kickstarter can be sustained and grown, with the help of our backers of course.
**Our Disclaimer** Although it is very close to final, the product you see above is a prototype of the final product. It is our dream in physical form. The beauty of Kickstarter is that with the help of the backers around the world, we can help fund and develop that dream to make it even better, before it is finally packaged up and delivered on time. Along the way there will be ups and downs, but we ensure that we will be listening to each and every one of our backers feedback and suggestions to take that prototype and make it a great final product.
