About this project
Howdy! My name is Vincent and I am an artist, illustrator and photographer. I live in the valley of the Schuylkill River in south eastern Pennsylvania. I have spent a lot of time enjoying the beauty of nature and the charm of small towns along the valley from Conshohocken to Reading. I have spent many hours doing digital color photography along this scenic river but being a true artist I want to capture it with the film and the cameras that turned me onto photography. That is black and white Ilford 125 film in a 35mm Pentax and Vivitar camera. I will also hand process the film myself. I have wanted to do this for a while now and make a coffee table book from the images. Now the only thing holding me back is the cost of film, chemistry and most expensive printing the book. That is where this Kickstarter project comes into play. This project will fund my adventure this summer in photographing and this autumn in making the book happen. I am seeking $8500 to fund this. It will go towards the printing of the book (like a mentioned before, the most expensive part and over half of my budget), chemistry to process the black and white, a new film scanner (the old one went kaput), book layout software, gas to get from Conshohocken to Reading and of course I need funding to cover the creation of other rewards like prints and postcards. If I exceed my goal, all extra money will go into this project and I will come up with new things to thank those who backed already.
I will be shooting at least one roll of film at each of the following locations:
KING OF PRUSSIA/WEST NORRITON
A minimum of three images from each location will make it into the book with one photo from each location being made into a limited edition print and post card. The book will be printed and bound by a professional bookmaker and printer in Maryland. The prints themselves will be printed on either Ilford of Kodak professional black and white papers.
Thank you for your interest in my project!
