The Second Android Collective.
Welcome to the launch of The Second Android Collective.
This campaign, if successful, will see the expansion of the Androids and Robots range of miniatures produced by Blind Beggar Miniatures,
This Second Collextive of Androids will see the extension of the 'Andy' Series, with a new selection of models which fulfil even more roles in society.
The 'Andy' Series
The 'Andy' Series are based on an original design first conceived and created by Andym Industries (the MK1).
This original design was later acquired by the BB Corporation where further research and development saw this pattern evolve into a range of models with differing specifications.
There are currently seven different models in production in the 'Andy' Series, This campaign will, hopefully, see the introduction of several more.
The New Models
The new models that the BB Corporation would like to put in production are shown here:
Please note that MK's 10 and 11 are two-part miniatures.
The Pledge Levels.
Take a look at the Pledge Levels on the right to see the options available for acquiring some 'Andy's of your own. You will also find the option of acquiring yourself some of the original models from the earlier campaign if you so wish.
£1200 Stretch Goal:
Should funding reach £1200 then the Mk 1 'Barker' model will be added to The Second Collective.
The 'Barker' model has been programmed to work in a rather specialist version of the 'Companion' role. This model has been designed to accompany and protect children and has padded faux fur coverings fitted to its legs to help facilitate this as the very young seem to particularly enjoy clinging on to it.
Barker models will be added free to the following Pledge Levels should funding reach the required level:
'The Second Collective': 1x Barker Droid added to Pledge.
'There Were Many Copies': 2x Barker Droid added to Pledge.
'The Complete Collection': 1x Barker Droid added to Pledge.
'The Complete Collection Twice': 2x Barker Droid added to Pledge.
All of the above figures have 'slotta' base tabs, which have been designed tol fit most types of plastic slotted bases.
Bases are NOT supplied.
There are several reasons for this:
Firstly, whichever type that I chose may not necessarily be compatible with those of any given Backer.
Secondly, I would have to increase the cost of all Pledges to cover this.
Thirdly, and most importantly, the space that they occupy could take parcels from the Large Letter category, which 95% of all parcels so far in previous campaigns have fit into, up to a Small Parcel and thus increase the postage further. This can be quite a significant increase when sending overseas.
Bearing all these factors in mind I have decided it makes more sense not to add them.
Risks and challenges
I have already run many successful Kickstarter campaigns, all of which have funded and have been fulfilled well within the time frame specified at the the time of launch.
I see no reason why this should be any different as the figures have already been sculpted and master moulds have been made to eliminate as much risk of delays as is possible.
This project is to fund the production moulding and casting of the Androids.
I have factored in extra time for any delay in casting, so every pledge should be fulfilled in time.
The only problem would be if the Android Masters took exception and rose up in rebellion, but their programming should prevent this and was successful in its application last time around.....
