The Cognitive Collective
This campaign will feature the release of new white metal miniatures in 'heroic' 28mm scale representing The Cognitive Collective,
The Cognitive Collective NOW consists of all SEVEN miniatures, the original six PLUS the big fella with the huge hands!.
The huge seventh member of the Collective...
There is also the option to add Robot Bodyguard Squads, each consisting of seven white metal miniatures.
The Seven members of The Cognitive Collective.
Here are some ready for their first appearance on Outland...
...and with a Robot Bodyguard Squad in tow...
Of course, these miniatures can be used in many different settings other than my own setting of Outland, including all flavours of sci-fi from 'Grimdark' all the way to 'Retro'. They could also easily see service in the Pulp, Superhero and VSF genres, amongst others, as well.
The Cognitive Collective.
The Cognitive Collective is the name of an unknown number of cybernetically and mechanically enhanced individuals that operate at the centre of Government under the leadership of Baron Posenhosen on Outland. They are responsible for the day to day governing of the planet and oversee all manner of administration, security, development and growth of the systems that allow the Baron to rule (almost) unchallenged.
It is rumoured that they are actually the power behind the throne, but just how much influence they have is pure conjecture at this time.
There are an unknown in number, but those featured in this campaign are known to be members of a ruling Council, often referred to by the populace as the Lords Procrastinator.
The miniatures featured is this campaign will all be produced in white metal and are 'heroic' 28mm scale.
Here is a shot of six miniatures of the seven that form the Collective, inked to show the detailing.
Robot Squad Bodyguards.
Some of the Pledge Levels include Robot Bodyguards, which each consist of seven miniatures, six Ray-Blaster carrying Ray-Bots and a menacing Fista-Bot for close quarters action and forced entry.
There are a number of Stretch Goals which, should they be Unlocked, will see the number of miniatures in the Original Cognitive Collective increase.
Stretch Goal #1: £1500
Should the Funding Level reach £1500, then another miniature in the form of a random Cyber Hound, chosen from the five models currently in production, will be added FREE of charge to The Collective to add as an additional personal bodyguard.
The following miniatures may be added to your Pledge parcel for the cost indicated...
The Original Android Collective £22
These big-headed units make great servitor Androids for the Collective.
All of the above figures either have 'slotta' base tabs, in the case of the Robots, which have been designed to fit most types of plastic slotted bases, or are 'flat-bottomed', in the case of the Collective miniatures themselves. This will enable the members of The Cognitive Collective to be attached to any type of base with ease.
Bases are NOT supplied.
There are several reasons for this:
Firstly, whichever type that I chose may not necessarily be compatible with those of any given Backer. Secondly, I would have to increase the cost of all Pledges to cover this. Thirdly, and most importantly, the space that they occupy could take parcels from the Large Letter category, which 95% of all parcels so far in previous campaigns have fit into, up to a Small Parcel and thus increase the postage further. This can be quite a significant increase, especially when sending overseas.
Bearing all these factors in mind I have decided it makes more sense not to add them.
Risks and challenges
I have already run more than thirty successful Kickstarter campaigns which have funded and have been fulfilled within the time frame specified at the the time of launch.
I see no reason why this should be any different as the figures have already been sculpted and master moulds have been made to eliminate as much risk of delays as is possible.
This project is to fund the production moulding and casting of The Cognitive Collective (the Robot Squad are going into production moulds already) and I have factored in extra time for any delay in casting, so every pledge should be fulfilled in time.
The only problem would be if The Cognitive Collective took exception and had me scheduled for termination, but they should be busy with other tasks, so fingers crossed....
