Each player draws 7 cards from the Scrap Pile. Ready. Set. Go. Round 1 of building begins! If no one is able to create a machine, Round 2 begins. This time, each player chooses to do one of the following: draw 2 cards from the Scrap Pile; return 2 cards to the Scrap Pile; or trade 1 card with 1 other player. This action is repeated each round. When a player has built a machine, he/she yells, “Ready!” The round stops and the 1 minute timer is set. Each player must complete their machine before the time runs out or receive 0 points. When time is up, each player presents his/her machine, beginning with the player who yelled, “Ready!” Any player may challenge another player’s machine. In this case, a vote must be taken. The majority vote wins. If the other players do not agree with the player who made the challenge, the challenger loses 5 points. In Easy Mode, Power Sources are not required, but they may still be used.
Just like Easy Mode, except Power Sources must be used for any cards with that requirement. When the time is up, if a player has cards that require a Power Source, but he/she does not have a Power Source card, those cards must be deducted from his/her score.
Each player grabs 10 cards from the Scrap Pile. The timer starts and building begins. There are no rounds and no trading! When time runs out, each player adds up their points. Any unused cards are deducted from each player’s score — so make sure you’re low on extra scrap in this frenzied mode!
In this mode, everyone is working together. One player draws 7 cards from the Scrap Pile. The timer is started. The players must use teamwork to build 1 machine before time runs out. If successful, they discard the used cards. Any unused are shuffled back into the Scrap Pile. For the next round, they draw 9 cards, start the timer and try to build another machine. This pattern is repeated with 2 additional cards being drawn every round until a total of 21 cards is reached. Build a machine with all 21, and become Scrapyard Warriors!
Layout all of the cards face-up and have fun solo or with friends making awesome machines. Take a picture and submit it to Black Tea Studios. We'll post it for the Scrapyard Warriors community to see! Anything goes!
These are just a few ways we like to play Scrapyard Warriors. Have your own way of playing? We'd like to know! Players will be able to submit their ideas to Black Tea Studios for the world to see!
Scrapyard Warriors is centered around the Scrap Cards. These are what you use to build your amazing machines and contraptions. Each Scrap Card has color and corresponding point value, located in the lower-right corner of the card: Red = 1 Point, Light Blue = 2 Points, Yellow = 3 Points, Green = 4 Points, Blue = 5 Points, Purple = 6 Points, and Orange = 1-6 Bonus Points.
"Requires Power Source" Cards
Cards that require a power source have a red lightning bolt in the lower-right corner.
Power Source Cards
Cards that provide power have a green lightning in the lower-right corner.
Using Power Sources
1 Power Source can provide power for multiple Scrap Cards.
Bonus Cards cannot be used to construct your machines. They simply add extra points, ranging from 1 to 6. They have a green plus sign in the lower-right corner.
Tips are located in the lower-left corner of every card. They simply give players basic information about the item on the card.
Has ANYONE ever heard of a clean scrapyard?! Certainly NOT! Always shuffle the Scrap Pile before playing!
When playing rounds, player 1 goes first. Play continues clockwise with each player starting a new round.
Players: 1-6 | Age: 6+ | Playtime: 15-45 minutes
