Alt Control Delete is a Science Fiction comic book series set in a futuristic world where VR video games have evolved into a professional sport. Most consoles are a form of advanced Virtual Reality so, gamers have to link up their brain to compete, shop, and be entertained.
Our team on these first two chapters consists of Eddie Nunez, Ariel Medel, Elkys Nova, Dan Prado, Heather Antos, Nic J Shaw, and myself.
Collectively we've worked on projects for comic companies including MARVEL, DC, BOOM!, IDW, Image, Lion Forge, Dynamite and many more. We've all put our efforts into making this book the best quality possible on an Indie budget.
WHAT ARE PEOPLE SAYING ABOUT IT!?
Technology and games permeate nearly every aspect of life in a culture that thrives on games and competition in a society where XP is currency. The prevalent philosophy of this society walks the border of trans-humanism: man and machine are beginning to merge, but the world is torn on the issue.
Throughout the first 5 Chapters, rising star and professional gamer, Tess is in pursuit of her AWOL friend. When Tess's secret investigation leads her deep into the gaming underbelly of New Angeles, she is faced with a choice: risk her tournament standings and follow her friend's trail or return to the safety of the compound and forget what she's seen.
The total number of 22 page iIssues in Volume 1 is 4, but this campaign is centered on pages 12-23, basically Chapter 2. Following the events of Issue #1, the identity of the mysterious "man upstairs" is revealed and we get a wider peek at the world outside Tess' corporate compound.
Issue #1 Chapter 1 is already published and available on ComiXology Submit. We need your help to finish Chapter 2.
We have already begun production on Chapter 2 of Issue #1, but we need your help to finish it! Ariel, Prado, and Ander are chomping at the bits to finish up this story arc, but I need a little more money to pay these incredible artists for their time and energy! I've already invested everything I can into kicking off the book, so we need fans like you to keep this story going.
It costs money for these guys to keep making art, so that they can actually cut time out of their other work to draw, ink and paint.
Right now, we need just $3500 to finish up the second chapter of the book and pay for rewards and the fees that come with running a Kickstarter.
If we can raise more than this goal amount, we'll just keep creating more story! The scripts for the first 4 issues are already finished, so anything more will go towards completion of the entire first Volume. That includes more pages of story, and a few other cool things we've been secretly cooking up, including an updated website.
So, the script is written and we've already started working on the amazing art for these pages...
Part of what our fans loved about the first issue was this jump between the real world and the game world. In Chapter 2, we've introduced a new game world where Tess and a NEW PLAYER duke it out in a challenging two player "VS." mode.
The talented Ekys Nova Diaz has come on board to make this cartoon-like world come to life. We even designed Tess' avatar in this world as a homage to the upcoming re-release of Joe Mad's Battlechasers franchise.
We've jam packed our reward packages to give you as much as possible in exchange for your help in getting this finished. Digital copies of the books, Print Copies, a Variant Cover, Embroidered Hats, T-shirts, Original Inked Pages, Getting Your Face in the Book, an 11x17 Poster and some exclusive USB drives are among the prizes.
If we reach our goal, all of our backers will get a Kickstarter exclusive reward that you will not be able to find anywhere else!
Risks and challenges
We've run a kickstarter before, and thanks to the fans, we were able to raise $1400. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to get us to our goal, but we learned a lot and have since then done a TON of research.
We hired some gnomes to carefully calculate exactly what it will take to deliver rewards and print the book. We also gave ourselves an extra buffer to account for any unexpected delays with manufacturing or delivering, so we are confident that we can deliver exactly what you asked for and on time!
The biggest challenge we could anticipate would b, if we raised over 400% of our goal. We would need to give ourselves an extra 2-3 weeks to handle that large of an order!
Thanks for checking out the book!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
