The Story So Far -
Home is about a young woman named Elysia, who was born with natural blue hair. Because of this, she was made an outcast in her home town, and circumstances caused her to live a very lonely life. That is, until she found out she could see and manipulate living computer code. A Code so powerful, it took her to another world...
Not just any world, Altaria. A land of Knights with futuristic weapons and armor, and monstrous beings called the Schrief that are unlike anything she's seen before. Despite being new to this world, Elysia was welcomed with open arms, and she even made friends among the Knights of Altaria. But the stress of the constant attacks by the Schrief caused her to snap, and act in a way she's never done before.
To make matters worse, Garnon found out that an army of Schrief were right outside Altaria's walls...
Understanding Where You Are In Life
Home #5 is the end of Elysia's story. Yet, you might be confused about the title, as it's not exactly "climatic". It would've been easy to do "The Last Stand" or, "The Rise Of The Knights" or something classic like that, but Home has never been about that. It's always been, for me anyway, about the characters, and Elysia is the main character, so I wanted to make sure her final issue had a title that meant something true to her.
So what does "Understanding" mean? What does she understand by the end of the issue? Well...that would be telling! But I can say this. Her journey as I played it out was very intentional. From talking about her past, to going to Altaria, to interacting with the Knights, to now, it's all served a purpose. What that purpose is may surprise you, or it may not, that's up to you.
Regardless, I promise an ending that is fitting, and heartfelt. After all, I love Elysia just as much as you do dear reader, so why wouldn't I give her a proper sendoff?
An Issue With Many Stories
Make no mistake, while Home #5 is about Elysia, there's still a lot going on with the Knights. I set a lot of things up in Home #4, and #5 is the payoff.
There's of course Elysia, and what she does (oh man...what she does in this issue...), but Sonia has some big moments here, as does Garnon, and the rest of the Knights!
Oh, and there's that army of Schief I showed off at the end of Home #4...something should be done about them I think...
My Home...Away From Home...
To me, Home is much more than a comic. It's a dream come true. Home was just another idea that I pitched to publisher, and then got turned down over. But because of readers and supporters like you, I got to tell a story that would've just remained in my head otherwise.
It's been an honor sharing Elysia, Garnon, Sonia, Yashera, Randy, the rest of the Knights and all of Altaria with you.
Now, some people have been asking me, "Is this really the end of Home?"
Well, I can say definitively that Elysia's story ends in Home #5. As for the series...well...you might want to check out the last page in this issue.
Catch Up On The Series
With Home finishing up here, it's actually the perfect time to invest in the series as a whole. In that vein, I'm actually making a reward for you to get the entire series in one book, instead of 5 issues.
Now, if you want the 5 issues, I'm offering that too! I mean, the covers are beautiful! But if you want to read all of Home in one setting? We got your back.
Many of the rewards are coming from Home #4. From digital and physical comics, to getting all of my other comic series Guardians along with Home, and much more. It may be the end, but there's plenty to get here.

Since the first Kickstarter for Home, I've been blessed to have my friends AZ Powergirl Cara Nicole and Alfred Trujillo helping me with the comics. They've done 4 magnificent Variant Covers for Home, and Ms. Powergirl's cosplay shoot as Elysia is still an honor for me to talk about.
Well, they're going to help out one last time for Elysia and Home, and I'm happy to have them. We have one final print from Ms. Powergirls photoshoot as Elysia, and Alfred will once again be making an epic variant cover for Home, with Ms. Powergirl doing the colors.
These two are talented on multiple levels, and its been an honor to have them here helping me with Home. I hope you'll check them out, and consider pledging to one of their tiers. We're looking to again have some special art done in appreciation of them, so check out the rewards for more!
Will You Help Us Complete The Story?
Whether you're new to Home, or have been here for a while, this issue is very important. It's the end of Elysia's tale, and I want to make sure people get to read it. Every pledge helps.
Can only pledge $1? That's fine! Pledge $10? Great! It's not about how much you can pledge, it's just that you pledge, because every amount brings us closer to our funding goal. To help ensure that we make the comic, I lowered the funding goal from where it was in past issues. That doesn't mean we don't have a challenge ahead of us though, it just means I'm doing all I can to make sure we do this.
So if you can pledge, pledge! But don't just stop there, spread the word about Home. Tell them about how they can be drawn into the comic, tell them about our cosplay rewards, or how they can get 25 comics for $15 or $25. There's a lot to get here, and we'd be honored if you helped us go out in style.
And of course, if you want to follow us on Facebook, and help spread the word there, here's the Home page.
Risks and challenges
I won't lie, Home #4 kicked my butt in regards to what I thought would happen after we got funded. We had many setbacks. But through all of that, we pushed through.
My team is here, and we're ready to finish us out the right way. We're going to do more work up front because we truly believe we'll get funded.
So if we hit our goal, we'll do everything within our power to make sure you get your books ASAP.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
