Where is your home?
It's a very simple question, but one that you might not know the answer to right away. Some of us don't have a home, and some wish we had a home that was "better suited' for us, or more in line with what we can do. Sometimes, we are stuck in a situation that makes us wish we lived anywhere other than where we are now.
In Home, that question gets brought to the forefront with our main character Elysia. For her, she's literally stuck in life. Her parents have passed away, leaving her little to live on, which forces her to take on a dead end job just to survive.
Adding to her torment is the fact that she was born with natural blue hair. This makes her an object of ridicule to virtually everyone she meets. It's crushing to say the least. The funny thing is though...
She loves how she looks. In fact, she wouldn't change her looks for the world. Elysia loves who she is, she just hates the situation she's in. Thankfully for Elysia, her situation is about to change...
Enter The Code
You see, one day, Elysia sees something that honestly shouldn't exist in our world. She sees code on a wall. By "on a wall" I mean hovering in front of it. At first she's freaked out, but then, she notices that something seems wrong with it. One of the few skills Elysia truly has is programming, she feels almost compelled to fix The Code. When she does, it fixes the wall behind it which just happened to be broken at the time.
Needless to say she's stunned, especially when The Code keeps popping up. But knowing she's technically helping by fixing it, she does so whenever she can. This all builds up to a point where she fixes a massive pillar of code, one that opens a portal to an entirely different dimension.
How different? Well...
Welcome To Altaria
She's flung into a world of knights and monsters. But not just any knights and monsters. These knights use The Code to create armor, weapons, and help repair their homes and other constructions. In fact, once Elysia shows them that she can use The Code, she is allowed to join the Knights of Altaria, and gets a pretty cool piece of armor herself.
And she's going to need it! Because fighting the knights are breeds of monster the knights called The Schrief. Though they are natural creatures of the world, they've evolved specifically to combat the knights, and outnumber them heavily.
Unknown to her, Elysia may be the knights' only hope of stopping the Schrief, and saving Altaria from sure destruction.
Home - A Fantasy Mini-Series
This is but a taste of what's to come in Home, and trust me when I say we've only told you the bare minimum of what's happening in our story. And I can't wait to show you the rest.
As said above, Home is a mini-series, with this Kickstarter helping fund the first issue, and hopefully build up a nice little fanbase for it so we can finish it once we start. I see Home being 5-6 depending on how the story flows, so if we can get this one started? I see no reason why we should stop.
Home is actually my second series I personally have written. What makes Home special to me though is the kind of story I'm telling. Blue hair aside, Elysia reminds me a lot of people I know, people who wish their circumstances were different, or that they could get a chance to do something special. In fact, one friend of mine actually thought I was describing her when I gave a bio for Elysia. It's my hope that people will read this and receive a message of hope, and about believing in oneself. It may take a while, but good things can come about if you're willing to take the chance on them.
Then of course, there's the knights, the Schrief, the world of Altaria in general. I love the look of Home, especially once we get to Altaria and see the knights and The Code in action. It's going to be visually stunning I promise you. And if you help me and my epic team bring Home to life, I think this will be an experience we all will enjoy.
Meet The Team:
I have a very talented team behind me with Home. You can see their work above in the preview. But more than that, I think they're just awesome people, and I would be a fool to not talk about them in this Kickstarter.

As a true supporter to her passion of costuming, Cara uses her experience as an elite cosplayer to teach panels on Cosplay Safety, The Business of Cosplay, as well as mentors many newer costumers to grow in the business.
Watch The Story Unfold
We have a lot of art for Home, some pages, the cover, and a lot of concept art. A lot of which you can see above We'll be posting more throughout the campaign to show you glimpses of what you can expect as the story continues. Including some fun fanart that we're already getting!
Home #1 will focus on Elysia, but we have some fun stuff for her to do don't worry. But we also want to show you what future issues will hold, as we hope you'll stick with us throughout the series.
So, what can you do to help? Well, pledging is a good start, but if you think you know people who will want to check this out as well, let them know! The more people who pledge and spread the word, the better off we'll be.
So on behalf of Team Home, I thank you for reading this, and I hope to see you in the world of Altaria and beyond.

Risks and challenges
To be honest, there's not much risk with our project as it stands right now. We have a full team ready to complete the comic, in fact we already have pages done as you can see. The only "challenge" will be making sure we get everything to the backers in a good time frame. Some rewards will be quick to be given, while others will need a bit of time. We don't see this being too much of a problem though, and we'll update you if there's any serious delays.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
