"Is there more to life than just my purpose?"
A deep question don't you think? Yet one that encapsulates what my comic Guardians is all about.
Guardians is a superhero story for a new age of comics. And it all centers around a place called Delta City.
You see Delta City is a place where great scientists and builders can come together to try and improve the world. And they do so, but it comes at a price. As time goes on, the value of the work they do increases, and that leads to crime, and a lot of it.
Now crime is nothing new right? So at first they just try and go on with their lives. But it quickly escalates, to the point where it's pretty much unbearable. So in their desperation they cry out to their savior for help. And so...
"They asked for angels, they prayed for saviors, what they received...were Guardians."
Their prayers were answered, and two heroes were born. Element and Chaos, the Guardians. Tasked with a single goal, to protect Delta City and those that reside in it. And as you'll read, they do it very well. But then the problems start popping in.
First, they realize they don't know how to interact with the citizens of Delta City. Which causes them to run to a watchtower and observe the city until they are needed again.
Second, as they observe a question begins to arise, the very same question I asked right off the bat. "Is there more to my life than just my purpose?" Because one of the Guardians wishes to become a part of Delta City, to interact with the people and learn from them. While the other wishes to do their mission, and only that.
Guardians is as much a story about life as it is about superpowers and villains. As the issues go on you'll see Element and Chaos grow as characters. Cause unlike most heroes they're as much a blank slate to themselves as they are to us. And it's fun watching them interact with the other and the people of Delta City.
The Guardian Have Arrived
So you might be wondering, "How much of this comic is already done?" Well if you haven't watched the video or read the rewards it's the following. We have four issues done. A prologue issue, Guardians #0, and the first story arc "The Winds of Change" which is #1-#3. All of which is available right now from our website: http://guardians-comic.com/
Also, the prologue issue is FREE. So you can read it right now if you wanted to then come back to read the rest of this!
...you back? Good. I'll keep going.
So yeah, we have four issues out right now, but we want that to be just the beginning! With this Kickstarter, we wish to fund the next two issues of our comic, which will be (barring a certain reward...) called "A Phase We're Going Through." And if we get lucky and get more than we need, we'll use the remaining money to make the arc after that!
And that's not all, the team over at the Powerverse has taken Guardians under their wing, and every new issue will lead us to the crossover with their character Will Power!
But to do that we need your help.
Building a Universe by Building a Fanbase
Now although we do need the money to continue or comic, that's not our only goal here. We want to build a fanbase so that we can keep going beyond what we hope this Kickstarter will bring us.
The more fans we get, the more opinions we can hear, and the better this comic can get. Just from the Press alone we've gotten a lot of praise about Guardians. But we've also gotten critiques, and we've already applied what they said to the comics themselves.

The Story Began With Us, It Continues With You
I'll be honest, we offer some pretty cool rewards. But if we were to get 1000 people to donate $3, or 3000 to donate $1, and all of them stayed with the comic? I'd be floored, cause not only would that allow us to continue, I'd know we have a fanbase that'll continue to read our stories.
And let me tell you, we got some BIG story ideas coming up. We're just starting to build the world of Guardians. We've got epic characters just waiting to arrive in Delta City, and we're going to put Element and Chaos through challenges both new and familiar. I hope you'll join us for the ride.
But that's not all! We do a bunch of contests for Guardians on our FB page. From winning issues of the comic, to being drawn into it, to helping create epic Guardians merchandise, we see you as more than just a reader, you're part of the Guardians family!
Check us out, then spread the word!
So between the free prologue issue and the rewards we're offering, I think there's some pretty good reasons to check out Guardians. But why stop there? If you spread the word, more people can join in the fun! And again, the more people that read Guardians, the more we can adapt and make this comic the best it can be!
In the end, this is all up to you. I hope you'll help us continue this epic journey we've begun.
Risks and challenges
The only risk and challenge in our project is getting the amount needed to make the issues of the comic, and then shipping them.
We will do our best to get the paperbacks made and shipped as soon as possible, but depending on the printers that may take some time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
