Ransom City is no more. A missile strike from an unknown origin has turned it to rubble, killing millions in the process. Those that survived emerged from the destruction only to be greeted by V.A.N.D.A.L.; a mysterious mutagen that had terrifying effects on those exposed.
While the government lies destabilized due to the Kingdom’s nefarious activities, the souls trapped in Ransom City have been left to fend for themselves. However, the pharmaceutical giant Parasol Incorporated has taken matters into its own hands and begun to lead cleanup efforts, a decision met with universal praise from the outside world.
Unfortunately, for those within the nightmare, the corporation's arrival has made things worse. Their interests seem skewed, their actions are questionable, and since their "efforts" have begun, people have disappeared, strange mutated creatures have crawled out of the shadows, and what can only be described as monsters straight out of horror movies have begun to run rampant.
Now, it is time for the survivors to fight. Fight for the truth ... and their futures.
Aftershock is a deluxe expansion for the Street Masters board game, adding four new fighter decks, four new stage decks, two new enemy decks, new loot cards, and much more! Expanding on the modular nature of Street Masters, Aftershock includes two new ways to customize your play experience: missions and showdowns.
The mission deck is included to speed up multiplayer games by adding additional ways to support your fellow fighters. Mission cards allow fighters to gain powerful mission tokens, that can in turn be used to assist your fellow fighters during their turn.
Showdowns are a new type of story deck that can be used in any story mode game, adding a villainous character working in the shadows against the fighters. Each showdown deck introduces a unique story for the associated enemy deck, as well as upgrade cards that will truly test the fighters!
Players can also choose to include these enemy upgrade cards in their arcade games to increase difficulty and customize their games even further.
Additionally, Aftershock comes packed in a massive storage box that is designed to hold all existing Street Masters decks and tokens, as well as room for future content.
Street Masters is a 1-4 player cooperative miniatures board game inspired by classic beat ‘em up & fighting video games. Featuring over 65 highly detailed miniatures, unique decks for fighters & enemies, custom dice, and lightning-fast gameplay, Street Masters lets players match up powerful fighters against villainous organizations in a wide array of exciting stages.
Designed by Adam Sadler and Brady Sadler, the game offers modular and elegant gameplay set in a unique world of street brawling action!
Like many other publishers, we will be charging for shipping after the Kickstarter concludes, based on the actual costs incurred to ship. We will collect this via our pledge manager after the campaign ends. This is so we can be fair to you all since final shipping sizes are unpredictable with a growing campaign. This also gives us more room for stretch goals and as much cool gameplay stuff as possible.
After manufacturing, we'll ship your rewards at our cost to our international hubs. The following is a rough estimate for shipping a standard game package (approx. 4kg volumetric weight). Keep in mind these are just estimates, and costs may rise based on weight increases from unlocked stretch goals and any add-ons you choose.
- USA: $10-$20 to most states ($50 to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico).
- CANADA: $12-$23 to most cities.
- LATIN AMERICA: $70-$80 to most countries ($90 to Brazil).
- ASIA: $15-20 to China and Hong Kong. $30 to most other countries; note that we cannot provide an estimated cost to Malaysia, Singapore, or Indonesia though they will be sent from China).
- OCEANIA: $20-$35 to Australia. $30 to New Zealand.
- AFRICA: $95 to most countries.
- EUROPE: $20-$35 to most countries. $30-$40 to Norway, Finland, Estland, Lettland, and Latvia. $50 to Bosnia/Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia. $55 to Bulgaria, Lithuania, and Romania. $60 to Iceland. $45 to Greece and Turkey. $70-$80 to Israel, and Liechtenstein. $90 to Belarus.
Unfortunately, different import laws and customs from some specific countries have made it impossible for our shipping/fulfillment partner to ship to there, such as Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan. Due to this, we will not ship to these areas.
We can refund you within 2 weeks (14 days) of the campaign’s end date, fees included. After that, we will accept returns minus the Kickstarter and payment processing fees (which we cannot get back from them after 14 days). However, once we complete manufacturing and are readying our inventory to be placed on boats to our regional hubs, no refunds are possible. All refunds taking place within 14 days of the close of the campaign are reversed via Stripe to your credit card. Refunds taking place 14 days after the close of the campaign may be processed via PayPal or reversed via Stripe to your credit card, at our discretion. This project is being funded in USD and any refunds processed will be in USD for the exact amount received in USD, excluding any applicable fees depending on the time of the refund being processed.
Risks and challenges
Following our successful campaigns for Street Masters and Brook City, we are continuing to learn about how better to improve our marketing, design, manufacturing, fulfillment, and distribution, as well as how best to nurture our growing community. Street Masters was fulfilled in June/July 2018 and has since received critical acclaim, resulting in it selling out. Thus this Kickstarter's theme is not only to offer new content and a great (and highly demanded) storage solution, but also to print more inventory from our first campaign’s product lineup, giving backers a chance to get all of the things they missed the first time around, as well as allow us to get non-exclusive items to mass retail.
Currently, Brook City is in production at the manufacturer. Per our recent updates, we've approved all samples and they are in mass production, about 5 months early! Though we aren't physically involved until mass production is finished, it's equally important that we continue to communicate with them and our backers in order to provide the latest updates and news. Aftershock is extremely exciting, but we are also just as excited and committed to bringing Brook City to our backers' tabletops as soon as possible.
There are a lot of moving parts with Kickstarter campaigns, and timing is often one of the biggest obstacles, especially for smaller publishers such as ourselves. Fortunately, we've got experienced game designers working hard to ensure the gameplay offers the best experience it can, we have strong relationships with the factory/manufacturer, we have a shipment/fulfillment company already signed on, we are completely passionate about our games, and, most importantly, we care about our backers and their satisfaction.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
