About this project
We want you to experience Stasis for yourself. DOWNLOAD THE STASIS ALPHA, by clicking here.

Stasis is a 2D isometric, point-and-click adventure game for Windows & OSX, set in the distant future on a desolate spacecraft. John Maracheck must interact and solve puzzles to save his family, while uncovering horrific experimentation, illicit research and an ever deepening mystery.
Recently there has been an exciting resurgence of the point-and-click adventure genre. Standing on the shoulders of greatness, Stasis follows the game-play mechanics of classics like Space Quest, Kings Quest, the Monkey Island series, The Dig and Day of the Tentacle.
The critically acclaimed, Sanitarium - a psychological horror adventure game - used a similar graphical setup to Stasis. Stasis follows this unique visual aspect to bring the terrifying tale to life.
Stasis EXISTS and is playable. Several chapters have been fully completed, remaining areas have been technically planned and large portions of graphics have been created. Experience Stasis for yourself, by clicking here to download the Alpha.
Stasis hopes to reinvigorate the mature isometric adventure gaming genre by combining an exciting sci-fi, horror story and awesome graphics with classic game-play.
You direct John using the classic point-and-click interface. John must explore his environment by walking around, using equipment and interacting with the computers, machinery and the inhabitants that populate the spaceship.
Stasis also features an inventory system (Quantum Storage Device) that allows John to utilize items that may be useful. These items can be combined with each other to change their function and accomplish complex tasks. Various puzzles and problems must be solved to progress further into the bowels of the Groomlake. A rich story is weaved through the puzzles and environments while several characters push the narrative forward to an horrific conclusion.
The Level of Detail:
The Musical Score:
Mark Morgan has musically illustrated so many of the worlds that I have been lost in: Zork Nemesis, Zork Grand Inquisitor, Planescape Torment, Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas (to name but a few). Now with future work to look forward to - the soundtracks ofWasteland 2, Project Eternity and Torment: Tides Of Numenera.
Mark Morgan says, “At my first glimpse of STASIS, I was completely blown away by its Deep Beauty. This is destined to be EPIC!"
The core game features:
- Classic point-and-click adventure game mechanics
- Expansive areas to explore - with puzzles that span multiple rooms and entire floors of the Groomlake
- A compelling sci-fi story set in a rich futuristic world
- Highly detailed rendered 2D isometric graphics
- Multiple isometric zoom levels in different areas
- Varied environments; from re-purposed warehousing facilities, to sterile medical suites and overgrown hydroponic bays and more...
- Mature content for 'mature gamers'
- Full motion video cut scenes
- A beautiful orchestral soundtrack
- More professional voice actors
- More in-game video cut scenes
- Stasis has been featured in paper and print - LINK
John Maracheck awakes from Stasis on the Groomlake, a seemingly derelict spacecraft. This re-purposed mining ship, conveniently outside the jurisdictional influence of Earth, is in a decaying orbit around gas giant, Neptune.
Cayne Corporation is a trillion dollar, multinational company which has played a pivotal role in human technological, medical and scientific advancement for decades. The Groomlake is operated by this conglomerate and provides a secret platform for horrific experimentation and illicit research.
John is in tremendous pain. His wife and daughter are missing and time is running out, as the Groomlake plunges further into the swirling blue methane clouds…
Inspired by sci-fi classics like Alien, Event Horizon and Sunshine - Stasis is set in a time of blurred morality, where corporate pursuits of profit outweigh the rights of the many.
We have thought long and hard about the rewards that we would like to receive. Stasis features both digital and physical rewards from awesome Polo shirts with an embroidered logo to a boxed copy of Stasis, 3D sculpt and even a classic adventure game hint book.
You can also use Paypal to pledge to Stasis here:
The rewards list:
The $ 975 Black Edition:
The rewards matrix:
- If you are outside the USA and back a physical tier, please add $19 to your order to cover shipping.
- Physical rewards will ship at the same time as the game is completed.
- Wallpaper, backer access and credit will be available after the Kickstarter project is successful.
- Steam will be used to distribute the digital copy of the game. We will also endeavor to offer alternate digital sources - including direct downloads from our website.
Stasis has been in active, but part-time, development for three years. If Stasis became a full time project it would become a reality faster.
Crowd-sourced fundraising will allow for a commissioned musical score, professional voice artists, professional copy editing, additional layers of graphic detail and fidelity, further animation libraries, cut scenes and more.
The Brotherhood has big plans for more isometric adventure games, but first, Stasis needs to be successful.
Stasis is being developed by The Brotherhood, an indie team lead by Christopher Bischoff. - http://thebrotherhoodgames.com/
Chris has maintained a game development blog for years. See the development history of Stasis here: http://www.stasisgame.com/blog/
Chris is an architectural 3D artist with more than a decade of production experience. His résumé includes film 3D set construction, 3D visualization of large scale urban developments and commercial architectural animated films. He spends the rest of his waking moments being inspired by games, obsessing over sci-fi films & TV series and creating 3D art.
Chris and Nic (the other brother) have been making games together for twenty years and Stasis is a culmination of their passion for story telling and world building.
The Brotherhood hopes to create many worlds for you to explore, but first need to bring Stasis to life.

We were Greenlit at #4 out of 1500 games! THANKS!
Check out the Stasis website on http://www.stasisgame.com
We are aiming (with your help) for a +-third/forth quarter 2014 release -so roughly this time next year if we are funded.
DRM? NONE! No serial key will be needed, install and play.
WHAT GAME ENGINE IS BEING USED TO CREATE STASIS?
We are using Visionaire - details here:
WHAT PLATFORMS WILL BE SUPPORTED?
Stasis is a 2D game and as such it will run on most setups from the past few years - that being said, Stasis has a massive amount of animation and this animated content does require some juice to run smoothly and reduce load load times between areas.
- Windows 8 / Windows 7 / WindowsVista
- Windows XP is now supported with a DLL download - http://www.stasisgame.com/getstasis/ for details
- 2.0 GHz+ Processor
- 1 GB RAM
- 10-20 GB Hard Disk Disk Space
- 512 MB Video Card
- OSX 10.7 , 10.8 & 10.9
- Stasis does require a newer Mac, At least a Corei3 & 4 gigs RAM.
Risks and challenges
After devoting three years to Stasis, we will complete this project to the highest level of polish possible.
Creating a game is a massive challenge but we are well aware of the resources required to ship a finished product, which is why we have set our funding goal at $100,000.
In our day-to-day business, we manage large scale 3D projects with very tight deadlines and have used these skills to facilitate the same types of processes with the production of Stasis.
We do feel responsible for backer money, and further to this, we want to deliver an awesome experience leading up to the release of Stasis.
We see Stasis as a foundation for our future games and as such we hold its completion and success in high regard.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
